Just Our Luck

We get Bulldogs as soon as they hit form with Leo Thompson returning. Knowing our luck we have 3 more injuries after the Titans.

  • Thompson will be rusty and doubt he plays long minutes. Still will be hard to beat without him.

  • You can tell that game was rigged. NRL has almost total control over matches these days. It's like a pot luck dinner..

    • So you were on record that Penrith only won due to the NRL rigging it with refs. They lose and it's NRL rigging it.

Which is it? They favour Penrith or don't? 😂😂😂😂

      • The NRL favour whoever they want and whenever they want to suit their purpose. It's not rocket science

        • Well you said Penrith are favoured by refs and now saying they weren't. Maybe don't be a hypocrite next time and I won't question you.

Not rocket science to work out you have no idea.

  • Panthers were just off. They had a shocker all over the park.
Talagi was the highlight for me. When the Bulldogs half goes to the line and draws the inside shoulder of the Panthers backrower, with a short pass to the Bulldogs edge who is coming back on the angle at Talagi's inside shoulder....it work every time they did it. I'm sure every coach in the NRL saw it too. Talagi was so out of sync and isolated that he barely made contact at all and was completely ineffective. Mitch Moses to Tuilagi should have been able to do the same when we played them. It's the only weakness I can see for Penrith but it's a big one.
Dogs are always hard to beat, they scramble hard in D but they can make errors. Early shifts out of our end as yardage sets would be a good place to start. If you can get a lead on them they can struggle for points.

    • Jenkins as well under the high ball. That is why I wouldn't pick him in Origin. He's playing well but has elements of his game that needs fixing before Origin. Like naming a whole bunch of Panthers has worked in Origin before.

      • Origin is a completely different game. QLD understand that, NSW still don't seem to get it. You pick Origin type players. I'd definitely have Latrell, Turbo, Crichton etc.

        • LB, Jenkins under a high ball, yes he dropped a couple do you think Illongi,Pappilli, Edwards,Walsh DONT....the list is never ending. The way high balls are put up, it is becoming more of a lottery every week.

Did you not see the try scored by Jenkins under the high ball.....that is why he has scored 14 tries so far this season.

I don't think he will be picked for origin for a different reason i.e. inexperience......not being able to catch a high ball, but then again I would not know, I don't know what the selectors are thinking.

NB Spot on about Talagi Mutts, he is playing outside Cleary and Inside McLean and looks a good player when everything is going to "hoyle" but soon as the pressure comes on.....guess what he was the same at Parra and if he thought he was under presuure last night, God help him if he came back to Parra and had to tackle.....I could honestly say that Talagi's defensive skills only are slightly better than Pezet's because he can get out of the way and hide much easier.

          • Under pressure under the high ball Poppa. Yeah Iongi drops them but he ain't in Origin. Walsh drops them but his game is elite that issues like that can be forgiven when picking him.
Jenkins at this stage is not playing well in a great Penrith team. Is he a by product of their team?

He is in discussions with his high try scoring, but Alex Johnston showed you can have a great ability scoring tries but doesn't mean you are in Origin consideration. If he didn't play for Penrith would he be looked at? Not so sure. Not so sure he has as many tries as he does if not at Penrith.
