Just discovered - the NRL strategic plan to rationalise the number of Sydney clubs

1. Reduce tribal connections by encouraging clubs to play at large empty stadiums. Allow the AFL sole rights to political lobbying for stadium funding. Reinforce this discouragement by introducing a junior draft to drive local players from their clubs.2. Provide favourable treatment for clubs with minimal fan bases whilst simultaneously providing unsupportive treatment to clubs with large fan bases.3. Authorise jerseys which confuse fans and look like the jerseys of arch rival teams.4. Schedule night games which will not be attended by families.5. Support journalists who consistently look for shock stories and rumours rather than the tremendous community work undertaken by clubs and players.With such a coordinated plan targeting Sydney clubs, especially western Sydney clubs, the sponsors will abandon clubs, the fans will disappear and we will end up with only 3 or 4 Sydney teams.Congratulations NRL, success is just around the corner. Your ideal competition structure is coming to fruition!

    It would be good for the nrl to acknowledge Sydney as the heartland of rugby league. But according to the power brokers it lies elsewhere.
