Jr Paulo!!!

Don't know if anyone can confirm this or if it's already been posted, but here goes, a source tells me the Canberra Raiders are in talks to sign Jr Paulo and here is the kicker, they are also talking with Joseph Paulo.Given our court loss to Hoppa, we now have to clear room in our salary cap.I personally am very disappointed in this saga, we are losing a promising Junior and a well respected veteran of the club.*no edits thanks, shìts too obvious*

  • Is your source snake?
    • Ewww. Snake sauce.
  • surely this is NOT true.
  • Is there new on Hoppa?

    Here's a question...
Would you be willing to see Jnr go if it meant Joey also left?
    • No, cause seffa is not getting game time anymore and is a backup only.
In chess terms it be like losing your queen after killing a pawn.
  • Canberra Raiders set to sign Parramatta Eel Junior Paulo to boost their growing talent stocks.

JUST over a year ago, they were a club struggling to lure a marquee player. Now the Canberra Raiders are on the verge of signing one of the most talented forwards in the NRL.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Green Machine are close to signing Parramatta Eels prop Junior Paulo to compliment the purchase of promising Gold Coast five-eighth Aiden Seizer for 2016.

Paulo is contracted to the Eels until the end of 2016, but with a clause in his contract related to the departure of former coach Ricky Stuart, Paulo is effectively a free-agent.

Paulo, who signed a new three-year deal under Stuart, had a clause included into his contract at that time which states he can request a release from the Eels at any point should Stuart move on.

It’s believed that Paulo will formally act upon that clause and request a release this week once he returns from holidays with his family.

The Eels are unlikely to stand in Paulo's way given it will alleviate close to $300,000 from their salary cap, which is under pressure after the Foran and Hopoate contract mess.

The benefit of Paulo's departure to the Nation’s Capital will also allow the struggling club to promote a potent crop of emerging stars into the NRL more regularly including Pauli Pauli and the off-contract Daniel Alvaro.

Paulo is certainly no stranger to his former and now Raiders coach Ricky Stuart.
The powerful prop was selected as a member of the NSW emerging Blues squad when Stuart was coach of NSW State of Origin in 2011.

More recently, off field issues and run ins with the NRL judiciary have proven the downfall with the damaging ballrunning forward.
However, the Raiders are confident they can motivate Paulo into the exemplary leader he has promised to be.

Having missed out on the signatures of Melbourne’s Kevin Proctor, Cronulla’s Michael Ennis, Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco and Penrith’s Josh Mansour in recent years, the Raiders became the surprise packets of 2015, as a result of several shrewd purchases.

Former Wests Tigers utility Blake Austin, was considered by many as the buy of the season, almost topping off a break out year with an Origin call up.
And while they arrived in the pre-season with little fanfare, Raiders winger Sisa Waqa, who was formally with Melbourne and former Sydney Roosters prop Frank-Paul Nu’uausala, have also proven to be influential purchases.

Sorry can't post link from phone. Will do it when I get home tonight.
    • Pretty sure whomever has written this has pulled it out of their backside.

"It's believed that Paulo will formally act upon that clause and request a release this week once he returns from holidays with his family."

So, it's all hearsay and he said, she said BS. Didn't we extend Junior's contract last year? So the whole thing with Sticky wouldn't apply. And furthermore, why would Junior want to play under Sticky?

    • I call bs - 'nation's capital' wouldn't have capital letters - wouldn't have got through the subs - kurupy I reckon you wrote this story, hence no link
    • And the fact it's Saturday not Sunday
  • Having this stuff on our site is actually not helping the club. It feeds the media, it messes up contract negotiations, it bumps up the player's price. I'm not criticising anyone, I'm just letting you know that it doesn't help. This bloke is going through negotiations for a contract extension.
The way a players price gets bumped up is when it plays out like this in the media. Player managers do it. Rival clubs do it. Do we want a self fulfilling prophecy to play out?

"Cheers LB. I just can't go past him, the only 5/8 on that list to play for Australia and multiple times, back in the 2000's he was one of our best players, i'd say he could even be second to the great Brett Kenny for us."

Ok so going through these rapid fire, particularly this one as this i reckon would be 100% for one player. I did some Halfbacks to make it respectful but not many to choose from.Dylan Brown won the vote at 6.https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HGCBD291.…
