There is some mail doing rounds that the player Buzz & Adrian Proszenko were referring to is in fact Josh Curran. While nothing is near confirmed, he defintely fits the criteria of being a 'very good middle/edge' and is someone who defintely who fit within Ryles system.
If true, I would assume it would not be announced until the conclusion of the 2025 season. Ultimately, as the last thing the Bulldogs need is more talk around player movements. This would also explain the silence.
It is important to note this is not confirmed, just some mail going around and aligns with initial reports.

The examples I gave were to show that a tier of backrowers who actually deserve 600+ are much better than Riki.
all those guys you mentioned that are as good as Riki but on well above 600, that's my point, they are overpaid and those teams stink.
But they are paid way more than Riki. It is not like they are paid between $600-700k the lot of them, most are over that. Riki around $550-600k i think could be right.
You said and i quote "That is a lot of money for a back-rower" Also you said "Not all of them would be paid $600k" turns out they all are and more.
I see your point but at the same time the rate for a good to great back-rower with potential could be around that $500-600k mark. You didn't say the ones who deserve it, you said i doubt they are over it and they are. But what is also seen is the market for back-rowers now. It is like Halfback, an average to decent Halfback gets overpaid cause teams feel you need one. Back-rower is a flashy position, top teams usually have a great to elite edge player.
As for value for money and overpaid and the performance of those teams. The ones you mentioned are from top 8 teams and they are paid well and truly over $600k. But the names i listed are in a mixer of good and bad teams, all aren't going to be in the same team, you are going to have good paid players in bad teams that's how it works.
So your point those that are on more than $600k and better than Riki are overpaid and are on. bad teams. Nikore, Young, Crichton, Martin, Kikau, Niukore on good to great teams. Olakau'atu and Su'A in ok to not that great teams, Koloamatangi in a bad team that has had injuries this year and Nanai, Fifita and Fainu in average to bad bad teams. More good team than bad there. One of them can be a great team with their full squad. A top money back-rower whether the player is only good can work for a team in their cap.
I am not here though to come out and say Riki deserves this and that and is a must. I think he is a fine back-rower but do we go for potential? Someone said Riki is the back-row equivalent of Brown and that is not a bad call.
You do make some good points overall Dynasty. Discounted Fifita the best option is definately the best option. The bloke has the talent to be the best of all time in that position but cannot be trusted with a big, long term deal.
We need working backrowers. Riki is not, neither is Nikore.
We have good backrowers with a common theme of weak defensively.
42 tackles and 159 metres on Thursday. Against Souths, where they had a lot of possession, 30 tackles 231 metres. Against us, only 44 metres (Not a lot of forwards made metres that night) 51 tackles.
Only 2 games this year below 30 in tackles. Not sure what else you want in terms of work.
A simple mention of Riki from a random poster on another site now has turned into a case by case of whether we want him or not. He is signed til 2027 so unlikely we get him anyway.
Nikure is banged up now Poppa. He isn't the same player as his last year here
No way I'd be signing him
Not many of the bush coach's chase the collision game plan forwards make it past 30. Look at Lane. Look at Cartwright Bushie played 4 one out plays inside the opposition 20. 4 hit ups. As if the usual grind wasn't enough
Too much Bush stunts your growth ploppo
I hear ya. Thanks for the response.
Put it this way.. Garner and Sorenson are better and get less money than Riki. Riki is an overage first grader who'd start for us. Just because he's played one game for NZ doesn't mean he is worth 600k. If you over pay for anyone you break your cap.
There is always going to be someone overpaid in any roster. NAS for Melbourne, one the best ran clubs in the comp. No guarentees every player you sign is worth the money.
I wouldn't agree Garner and Sorensen are better than Riki. Penrith by product is not a great indicator. If all three were on the market now, Riki is getting more offers.
I am not saying he should be worth it on NZ alone but that is reality, it is used when discussing price.
As would one game for NSW would be used, you are an Origin quality player with one game you get a higher price.
Again, I am not saying he should be worth it, saying that is more likely what his market is.
I understand and pretty much agree with what you are saying. I'm just saying that most of the people who are in charge of clubs have less of an idea about who is worth what than people who just enjoy the game.
If Riki gets more money than Garner, that'll be from dumb shit teams.
Well any club would pay more for Riki than Garner. Riki is a constant starter, Garner is from starting to bench and back again. Plus age too. You'd pay more for a 25 year old than a 31 year old.
But Riki has potential to be in the Kikau and Young type of player but many teams are paying hoping for him to be that.
We are a bottom four side and need 1-2 gun players to change that. Replacing blokes like Lane, Matterson and Cartwright with an ok but not great player like Curran isnt gonna change our position on the ladder.
