Jono Wright departure confirmed

Paul Osborne tonight confirmed 1Eyed Eel reports that Parramatta centre Jonathan Wright would depart the club to join the Bulldogs on a two-year deal.

Reports surfaced on this site for the past couple of weeks that Wright would join Kris Keating at the Bulldogs and tonight at the Parramatta Eels Supporters Club meeting, Osborne confirmed the move.

The departure leaves the Eels desperately short in the centres with no recognised NRL player outside first choice centres Timana Tahu and Joel Reddy.

1Eyed Eel member BluenGold wrote earlier this week wrote that the Eels had been linked to Sydney centre Phil Graham.

  • Come on Tinks.
    No need for that.
Keep the faith as you always do.

I know how hard it is to constantly see us losing players, but we're forced to make do with what we have, and Jono is now surplus to the requirements of the club as we have seen.
  • You're right Ricky.

    I'll behave myself.

I'll just miss all my boys that are leaving. You know that I'll support our club no matter what though!

These negative outbursts are one in a million. :-D
    • I understand that Tinks as we're all prone to at least one form of negative outburst about the club or organisation at some stage.

I'll miss watching the departing players in action too, but that's the nature of the NRL, and we can't keep everyone.
We just have to continue enjoy watching and continue supporting the club passionately and the players representing our beloved Eels.
    • Why don't we ALL go down to the club and bang Osbourne's and the Board members heads against a brick wall.

Another outstanding coup for our illustrious leaders - NOT !!!!!!!!!!
  • phil graham is shit!
    we'll be right!

timana and reddy will do fine
and we got jacob loko to fill in if needed!
  • once more im scratching my head and wondering how the dogs can stay under the cap
  • surely tony asked osbourne about Ando's job????
  • Doggies will have to field 2 teams next year.....

"I mean Newcastle want Young but have no cash, apparently they had no money even with letting KPP go. For us, makes no sense to get him now unless Brown goes early.
Ideally, i would just want to get him for 2026."
