Not a bad game from young Joash, definitely an nrl level fullback but not as good as Iongi. It's good we have 2 fullback options but who can step in at anytime. Glad his last error didn't cost us because he didn't deserve that. Solid game and feel comfortable with him covering Iongi

I'd have Gutho in his prime and he's won a hell of a lot of games in blue n gold.
2017-2022 gutho was prime gutho, never will forget it.
That stupid last play from dopey Clint was hilarious
Iongi is the FB and apart from the turn of pace Iongi is better.
Joash is good though and yeah defo an NRL FB. Joash needs to keep Iongi on his toes and he'll get plenty of games in the 6, 14 or in the backs next couple of years.
Joash gets his opportunity. They'll push each other to get better.
Hard runs - Iongi
Passing creativity - papalii
Catching, defusing- Iongi
Running game - Iongi
Awareness - papalii
Backing up- not sure yet
Id have Iongi as he's a better defender
Its very even but we'll see over the next month. Exciting times and great depth
I watched the channel 9 coverage of the game. The on field post match interview with Joash was special. He absolutely loves the club with all his heart, it means so much to him. This is the type of player we want. Forget about whatever flaws he has at this early stage, they will disappear with time. Ryles is building the right structure.
It's just refreshing to have speed and dynamic from the back again.
They're both humble, hungry and show a willingness to learn and be part of a team.
Papali passed better in this game than he did when he was at 6.
An off season developing his vision, positional play and defence in the 6 role might be the way forward.
His explosiveness off the mark is something to watch for sure.
Having Lomax, Addo-Carr and Moses all play together with both Ionghi and Papali, regardless of their positions, will positively expedite their games no doubt.
Jarred Hayne was his idol, as a little kid living in Bulldog territory & having his whole family go for the Bulldogs was tough, he always wanted to be Parramatta number 1, tonight Ryles made his wish come true. He had a great game, 2026 he going to very special for him.
Thanks for that tidy tidbit TinTim
I spent my teens as merch wearing shit-slinging Eels supporter living in Canterbury. Went to Canterbury Boys. In a zoofull of wogs, blue and gold made Randy a refugee.... It has an effect on you. like a vaccination against being bullied
i hope it means Joash, in his bones, knows that he he has to stay on his toes. Return fire.. Passive is not an option, Give up and every no-hoper piles in too.
Joash would well know that it's the size of the fight in the dog that gets you through
