Joash V Iongi

Not a bad game from young Joash, definitely an nrl level fullback but not as good as Iongi. It's good we have 2 fullback options but who can step in at anytime. Glad his last error didn't cost us because he didn't deserve that. Solid game and feel comfortable with him covering Iongi

  • I think Joash is shaping as back up 5/8 and back up full back

And that's a good position to be in

    • He's definitely got some game, just Iongi frame and safety at the back is important. He will definitely do a good job filling in for him but.

  • Great little player. Hope he's in the 17 somewhere next year

    • He plays with a lot of heart and effort, can tell it means a lot to him wearing the jersey.

      • He has been a Parra fan his whole life. Plays like one of us would if we had the talent!

  • Good problem for JR to have.

    • joash game is definitely more fullback then 5/8 that's for sure. So we will be perfectly fine with him playing there till Iongi is back

  • I tried making it clear that Joash would be a good NRL fullback but he is just stuck behind Iongi. He has been killing it in cup all year that eels are trying to find a spot somewhere in the team (aka 6) even though I think he is out and out fullback.

    • If only we had a trade system, come 2027 we could use Papali'i to get some quality players.

"Both are extended til 2027. Fletcher seems to be really impressing in pre-season, similar to what Smith did last year. Not saying he gets near FG but he could play Cup earlier than expected maybe."

"They were getting too old for Flegg and we have much better for NSW Cup. I would've kept one of Lewis/De Straddis as they are versatile, but they would have started in Ron Massey so can't blame them going for a better offer. "
