Parramatta Lock Jack de Belin is open to a move to the PNG Chiefs in 2028. The former St. George Illawarra Lock forward signed a one year deal with the Eels that includes a club option for 2027. de Belin has had a rough start for the Eels, starting the first two rounds before being dropped in Round 3. He recently only found his way back to starting, though his future at the Eels is very much in doubt due to the option.
Now would he be interested in a move to PNG if Luai hadn't of signed? Of course he would. He would be 37 when they come in and gets a chance, even for a year, to get a massive pay day before retiring. Being in PNG compound for a year would suit better than a long term deal and i see that being the play for some of PNG's top 30 spots. Those in their 30's testing the water of life over there before the massive names commit further.
I mean at the moment, PNG have signed Luai and Johnston. They are linked to Manu, Watson and Williams. All have in common is that they will be in their 30's when PNG start in 2028. de Belin is another older head that would jump at the chance at quick cash instead of retiring.
Good on him if so but i wonder what he does for 2027 before going to PNG in 2028, if they want him that is.

HAHAHAHA what as the main course.....they do like long pig.....
You're wondering what he might doing next year...
He might try to get a gig helping get them up and running with a year playing at the end. (great for him)
~ or ~
MON already has the option paperwork ready for his signature. (not great for us)
I can see Bai, Petrus, JDB, Coates brothers (the spelling) all going to PNG. Lachlan Lam from SL as the 14. All PNG heritage.
He can go now.
I wouldn't mind De Belin being our NSW Cup captain in 2027 especially if we lose some of our forwards because of how many of them are developing. Play a Dan Keir role.
😂
Parramatta Eels equals the transit lounge for players come and go as they please.
You don't even care that he's leaving but you better have answers as replacements that's the question.
