Izack Tago dropped to bench for Penrith

Are there issues at Penrith for Izack Tago? Dropped to the bench in favour of Tom Jenkins. Rumour circled that Lomax for Tago trade was sort of mentioned. Talk of wanting to play at same club as Jake. Now let's say it is true that he wants to play with Jake, there is no harm signing Jake to a NSW Cup deal or 2nd tier deal for 2027 just to have Izack at the club. Perfect Centre replacement for Russell if so.

        • Jake isn't good, should only sign good players

          • RIght and if you read my response i say 2nd tier deal, basically nothing. NSW Cup deal practically.

  • Can't see Lomax going to Penrith! Lomax can't go anywhere if he doesn't want to go even if the Eels agree to a swap. Lomax still has to agree..Id rather see Lomax back playing for Parra after the Storm thrashing.

    • Lomax would easily got to Penrith, but they will have him on the Wing.

  • Izack Tago's best is behind him. Scared to make a tackle with his plastic shoulder. Should have scooped up Jenkins cheap when he was out of favour last season.

    • Right and if we signed Jenkins when out of favour many here would have chastized the club for a dumb signing. Hindsight is wonderful.

      • No, I don't really think so. Many on here mentioned perhaps looking at him. There was no obvious reason about his performances as to why he was out of favour. Perhaps 'out of favour' is not the best description. Just that other more experienced players were being preferred. Jenkins always looked a solid performer, with potential for further improvement.

        • Ummm when Penrith signed him he was playing park footy in Newcastle. At the time we were rebuilding it would have been a dud signing opinion by most here.

Unless you were talking about when Alamoti came in for him late in the year, in that case Penrith would not have let him anyway.

  • Chatter on Tago to Eels getting louder but i actually do not want Lomax going to Penrith in a swap as that means he more likely wins a comp and do not want him rewarded hahaha. But also, i feel if we hang on long enough, with Tago being on so much money, Penrith just get rid of him for nothing just to use his left over cash for next year and beyond.

If we can get him for nothing and use Lomax to get someone else happy days.
