Israel folou, 2ue interview

Listening  this morning,  alan Jones  interviewing  israel folou who is raising  3 million dollars  from public donations  for his legal  fees  against  rugby  Australia for unfair  dismissal.  This morning Israel  said  his fight  is because  of his strong  Faith , beliefs  in the bible that has made him who he is today.  Now personally  ive  nothing  against  him what so ever,  but he mentions   to jones very  strongly  the importance of the bible again on which he lives  by , which  he comes  to as we all know  his public condemnation for many sinners who eventually will end up in hell . Can  those  out there  who is familiar with   the bible  tell me if Israel is 100% correct to  pass  judgement   based on his beliefs ? Here is  one  quote , but is there  another  side  ?3045972464?profile=RESIZE_710x

  • Christeel, there are several vses in the OT that refer to homsexual activities and God's view on them. The best illustration in many ways is the reasons behind the Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.  Worth reading that as it was God's judgement on those two towns.

The NT also lists several areas of which are put to people who will not inherit the Kingdom of God.  Pauls letter to the Corinthian Church and his words of correction as the direction the Church had gone has several areas and list 1 Cor 6:9 is the main specific verse that highlights this. Early translations such as the King James version does not use the word Homosexuality as most new translations do but uses the word Sodomites, which refers back to the OT and what went on in Sodom and Gomorrah.

    • Bloody hell, how is anything in the bible true? It has been pointed out by archologists and historians that many things in the bible are false and many who can read the old texts show where it has been misinterperated. It is the view of those who decripted the old texts and the church at the time imo. I mean easter is the pagan festival of easturus, the beginning of spring (in the northern hemisphere) and christmas another pagan ritual to celebrate the shortest day of the year.

      • Glenn sure that are archeolitists and historians who say what is in the Bible is false, including those who can likely translate the old texts, but you fail to recognise that there are many scientists, archeologists, paleontologists, historians who support and agree with the Biblical texts, many of whom have changed from being non believers and refuting the Bible to supporting it.  In saying that, there are likely some who are the reverse.

        • Those that point out that the bible is false do so by using scientific methods, carbon dating and pottery dating, showing that cities were either not around or not destroyed as stated in the bible. Even most bible experts don't take the bible literally. Doubt any/many non believers have changed their mind based on archeological evidence.

          • That is where you are wrong Glenn, Carbon dating has its place but is also not foolproof either.  There a several digs in the mesopotamian regions that have produced very much mixed results, with clay artifacts having multiple time frames given to them.

When Mt St Helens erupted in the U.S and scientists went in once it was safe to do so, much of the science showed that trees had been affected in multiple ways, and the carbon testing showed up very large amounts of age variations.

In China where a lot of excavations have taken place to build new structures there's been a huge amount of old world items revealed, including boats of a size that are very much out of character for the location, testing of the timbers, soils and other items found have also given off a lot of discrepancies as well.

You might be very surprised about just how many atheists who set out to disprove the Bible and its historical accounts actually changed their minds after many of the discoveries.  One such case is the walls of Jericho, when that ancient cities ruins were found, the evidence point to the walls falling in the way its described in the Bible.

How long back did we have the expert in Von Daniken and how he proved to many in his terms that all the old world structures had to be alien built, basically designed to destroy the Biblical record.  There was also an attempt, and not sure if it was him or some other historian who said that the great wall and how it had stood for so long in such great state could not have been done using the technigues of the day, even allowing for the thousands of peasants who worked on the wall who perished.  A simple ingredient in the mortar provided the big key to the strength & longevity of it, that was powdered rice used that gave the mortar added strength and longevity as seen today.

            • Col, Though cynical of religions, I agree with you; science does not disprove God.

One of the biggest mysteries - what caused the Big Bang only makes sense with the idea of a some kind of Creator source.

Something can not arise from nothing.

Even many scientists admit to that.

The issue is God may not be anything like the personal, objecified, God the scriptures believe.

God could be the complete opposite - in tune with science, string theorists (and Tibetan Buddhist thought) - wholistically inter-dependant with all life, the universe, and even Buddhist thought. Like an infinitly expanding ocean.

              • HOEels: Take a look at the mathematics of set theory and see if something "can not arise from nothing." Who are the many scientists who say otherwise? A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. In your case, it has resolved into dogmatism.

                • Robert Llyod, As you do. I can offer an opinion which is based on some readings written by scientists many months ago.

Numbers didn't exist before the Big Bang. They were created by homo sapiens.

I was talking to Col about pre-Bang.

Your analogy doesn't prove anything. It's illogical. Except you criticise people for the same thing you do. It's all opinion. If only you saw that.

                  • Um, numbers our our way of describing a phisical fact. Just because our number system didn't exist does not mean that the physical property they represent did not exist either

                    • Sorry about the spelling. I struggle with touchscreens
