Since joining the Eels 12 months ago as a rookie, Iongi has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting emerging players in the game, impressing with his speed, footwork, and maturity beyond his years.
Iongi expressed his gratitude after putting pen to paper.
“This past year has been surreal, I came to Parramatta for an opportunity and now it’s become home. I’ve built a great connection with Jason Ryles, the coaching staff, my teammates, and everyone at the Club, and I’m grateful for the faith they’ve shown in me. The incredible support from our fans has made my journey even more special.
“We’ve grown so much as a team over the past year, and I can’t wait to keep building our future together at this Club,” said Iongi.
Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said the club is thrilled to lock Iongi in long term.
“Isaiah has developed into an important member of the team and has settled into the club and our environment very well since he arrived last year. His performances in 2025 have made him popular not only with the playing group but also amongst our members and fans.
With his positive mindset, strong work ethic and desire to improve, we see him as a long-term leader at the Eels. Jason, the coaches and the rest of the club are incredibly excited to see him continue to evolve over the coming years,” said O’Neill.
Iongi finished the year with eight tries, 12 try assists, and averaged more than four tackle busts per game. His strong form also earned him representative honours, playing for Tonga in the Pacific Championships. He was awarded the Parramatta Eels Rookie of the Year at the Ken Thornett Medal Presentation, and he cemented himself as a fan favourite by claiming the Blue & Gold Army NRL Player of the Year.

We already had him for 2 more , so it's 3 more seasons, they're fluffing this story slightly, we had him until 2028 already, on a modest contract. They've given him an extra 2 years , and bumped his salary up , I'm guessing considerably. The devils in the details here. As I said earlier , it may turn out great , but it may turn out to be a terrible move by jumping the gun early when we really didn't need to just yet. We are panick spending.
not sure who it was ( maybe Tank . ) , but a few days ago someone on here predicted we'd announce a big new shiny contract for an existing player to make MON and Co look like superstars and take the focus off us missing a few reported targets . They nailed it too a tee .
This kids got a red hot chance of winning a Dally M in the next few years, he's got the game to do so if the improvements there.
Hopefully a Clive Churchill on a winning side to go with it.
Brilliant stuff. So glad we kept this lad and kept Greasy Gus (Jabba The HUT) away
Look I love it, Iongi is an absolute weapon but for once it would be nice to get some NEW SIGNING news
Seems like MON pushes this stuff out when he needs to release some pressure. Useless prick. Iongi probably extended over a month ago.
Its a good resigning and he has done well; and this kid has huge potential and learnt a lot this year and will no doubt learn more. We are in need of strength in the outside backs and there are not many big buys out there. And like many I am constantly thinking where has the additonal coin been spent.......
Good stuff Parra he is a gun fullback hard to come by and locking him up is smart great re signing
Good
F@ark .. twilight zone vibes, the all round positivity on this blog about Longhi resigning is unheard of! To be fair its rare is it to have a kid with talent show some loyalty. Good stuff, hope he kills it this year.
Excellent signing. Although there is that little voice that's saying MON probably threw the bank at him and we've missed on Keon Kanyouputyourtonguein.
can't comment if I don't know how much
