Just wondering what others think. I know I'm only an old bloke but have watched the game grow and change so much over the years. But is it going to far?
The reasons is it the speed of the Athletes of today or the rule changes like the 6-agains and the dubious refereeing decisions.
Watching tonight's match Cowboys v Sharks there was 80 points scored in 80 minutes. Even the commentators made the point of saying it was ridiculous.
Personally, I am beginning to think the amount of players going to be needed on the bench if things keep going the way the NFL is headed will need to grow even more than what has transpired for this season. I'm not only talking about the Eels but all teams as I honestly think it will catch up to All teams.
I know there will be some say your only an old fart and to get with the modern game. They may well be right. But the more I'm watching games i just think it's going overboard. All this is just my humble opinion wondering what othes think

I find myself hating that damn six again bell. I'm struggling to get invested in a team defending, counting the tackles down and then six again, and another six again. Its terrible, there is no rhythm to the game anymore, there's no trench's it's the German equivalent of a blitzkrieg. Just steam roll over the trenches "defense" with quick, unlimited play the balls and get to the try line fairly easily.
God forbid when someone goes to the sin bin as well. The game really gets ugly then.
The only thing i am really enjoying at the moment is watching the man, the coach , the team that necessitated all this with wrestling and slowing the play the ball down with illegal and injury prone tactics. Craig Bellamy and the Storm going down to 6 losses in a row. Its now so very obvious the way the game has curtailed the storms tactics. Both ends of the spectrum with Wrestling in the ruck and the other end six agains are destroying the game. How do we find a middle game, one played in the 80's and 90's.
Start by reffing every game like they do Origin. Why does it get reffed differently?
(grumbles something-something fucking gambling infiltration)
The thing I hate the most about rugby league now is everyone pretty much has the same boring arse attacking structure left right rubbish the best teams have halves that play both sides of the ruck. The shithouse teams park there halves left and right.Everyone attacks off the same shit shape sets up either side of the posts and its block shape rubbish every team does the same shit.
Wheres the innovation in the game where is it.
I used the the word urgent athleticism all off season because it's for the most part the team with the best athletes that win the premiership as everyone's using a variation of the same thing. You'd like to think style makes fights but not in the NRLs case if everyone's doing the same shit.
Your probably right Coryin but i just can't get my head around everything thing that's happening in the so called game of today
They cut down the 6 agains but it is still to fast. I think there will be another crack down on rolling the ball in the ruck without an attempt to play at iit with foot next to even it out.
It will probably start today mid round with penalties against us.
I know we have a crack at the refs (me too), but imagine being in their shoes. Their heads would be spinning at Vlandy's constantly changing crackdown sheet every week. And then they face penalties if they affect TV schedules.
Gotta keep the refs heads spinning. It makes them moire responsive to head office edicts
Yes Randy i know my heads spinning spinning.like the way they said let's make the bench 6 players on it . That will make everybody happy . BUt we will still only allow 4 to be used and still only 8 interchanges . But we have to remember we are making it more entertaining as it's not a game anymore 🙄🙄
Boring the way that J R is couching parramatta ,,ADO CARR on the left didn't receive to ball once unless he went looking for it ,shouldy Moses has the common sense to revert to the left side often to give the best try scorer in the league if given a chance, that's why I believe Moses should be playing 6 .
With due respect Colin Good the reason i started this blog has nothing to do with Ryles coaching or how many times Ado car got the ball or where Moses should be playing . It's about the state of the game today and as I stated in the original post the effect its having on the whole competition . As i saythis is with due respect
