Is the fat lady singing?

I know with still a few rounds to go but seriously we play at home against a team that couldn't catch a cold in thredbo and we lose!We only play at pirtek two more times this year which maybe a couple of weeks ago you could say we were a chance but considering it's against souths and manly who quite possibly will win the comp this year, we stand no chance now based on today's efforts.I just believe our attack is so predictable... Dummy half to Norman who passes behind a decoy to Sandow who passes behind a decoy to hayne and then nothing! Maybe for the first ten rounds but come on parra please mix it up a bit! It's boring watching them at the moment!Only my opinion but can see only one more win for us this season, that's the game in Darwin vs raiders. Besides that game I think that's it probably leaving us around 13th or 14th position. And based on that another terrible season.I guess maybe it's just the disappointment of today talking but I'm not a very happy parra fan right now.

  • yes out loud to

  • Yes, season over. Peats is gone and winning games is gone. Better than the last 2 years though.
  • Yep. Another game where we lost it, rather than that team winning it. That's three this year (Manly, Tigers & now Newcastle).
  • It's not as boring as watching cross-field kicks or bombs on the 5th...and we don't take those options every set.

  • In a sense Brad Arthur inherited this team as much of the recruitment and retention had been done prior to his arrival. Although he has some talent at his disposal perhaps when he is given the chance to axe and recruit the players he wants he will be able to mould a better and more competitive team.

    • I defiantly agree with you mate, I'm hoping he will make the tough decisions when the time comes. And I know it's his first year with this mob but he has been with them before,so you would think he knows them better than any other rookie coach. I can't take the rebuilding excuse again if they come out and say it.
  • I think we are done.

This team still has a soft underbelly (natural after 2 wooden spoons) and unfortunately we have 3 origin calibre players on the sideline in Hoppa, Loko and Peats. After the bye we have the Warriors and Souths from memory? Good chance of 4 losses in a row.

Given our injury toll a win or 2 outside the top 8 by the end is an above par peformance.

  • Yeah, I think this loss to a cellar dweller team might be the beginning of the end. I called 12th pre-season and, after some hope of maybe taking 7th or 8th, I'm reverting to 12th again.

We give up too much ground in the middle of the park, concede too many penalties, and lack the kicking game to force drop outs and thus repeat sets.
  • GOLD!!!!!!! The only positive mate!
  • We only need to win 4 more games to have a chance of making the 8. Newcastle are not shit they will more games then they loose from here on in.
