I don`t usually bag players, so I`ll direct this more at the coach: why did Anderson continuing to select Mortimer in first grade? I just don`t get it. I used to watch Mortimer when he played in the lower grades, and he never impressed me. Other people on this forum seemed to share this view at the time. Then he came into first grade last year and did pretty well on the back of Jarryd Hayne and Jeff Robson at half-back. Then the media got invoved and he was way over-hyped. Over-rated...
Now, this year, he has done nothing. Finally, Anderson moves him back to five-eight, coz of Robsons injury. Daniel Mortimer did NOTHING last night. NOTHING. Is Anderson going to spend another six months trying to mould him into a five-eight again? And Mortimer`s obvious replacement at five-eight is Tom Humble. I am just disappointed...
Is Daniel Mortimer a Hooker,5/8 or Halfback?
Im so confused :S

I hope for his sake that he's a hooker, because at the moment, I'd keep the ball away from him at all costs! He's kicking game was shithouse last night!
When your halves don't know what's going on, then no one does!
Our young halves who are both 5/8's really had too much pressure on them without an experienced halfback to guide them and we really expected too much from them and Hayne for that matter and when you think about it they are only 21 and 22 and are probably 2 years away from hitting peak form.
He gets through enough defensive work as it is, and he has a good running game, and good ball skills.
I'd say he and Ants to be the rotating hookers for next year.
Shame tho - got all the attributes with guts and commitment but lacks badly in the talent area.
You have to wonder if his family didn't push him onto a game he probably didn't want to play nearly as much as they wanted him to play
