Is JR rebuilding or destroying?

Sorry team, but thus far I am not impressed and I know many will disagree.

I stated after Ryles signed  that we didn't need a complete roster change , but a coach who could modernise our game plan, get better performance out of our squad with a few squad changes.

What I have seen thus far is releasing a heap of tried and proven performers  who were clearly restrained by BA's one trick pony approach.

Yes, some were arguably paid more than they should be in terms of squad, replaced by players with so called potential and unproven ability.

I agree some players needed to me moved on. Sivo was one of them, but only if we had a suitable replacement.

But this IMO is crazy and over the top.

If all true we have released RCG, Gutho ( both heart and soul effort players) and now Lane, Matto and Carty have been tapped. WTF is this guy doing?

Replace all these guys with nuffies. I am seriously concerned.

How about showing your alleged coaching skills and getting better out of players and proving yourself with game plans.

Sorry, I hope to be proven wrong but what I am seeing this far is not a five year rebuild, but a ten year rebuild.

A good coach gets the best out of players, rather than taking the easy cop out.

Our signings thus far are based on unproven potential and do not come even close to replacing the players released.

    • With all due respect, have you forgotten the horror run of injuries we had last season? It was one of the worst seasons for injuries we have had. Moses alone was out for more than half of the season. This same team you call shit that came second last with those injuries is  essentially the same squad that made the grand final two years prior. The same team that beat the four time premiers on multiple occasions .

      • That's the past that squad from the GF was missing players.

We also got flogged in the 1st half of that game.

That same squad lost games they should win were inconsistent alot.

The games changes we need to change with it you mentioned the injury toll it was bad what was exposed is our depth and lack off mostly due to poor cap management we have let older players go who have played their best footy with us and as such have created cap room to rebuild and create depth.

  • He is building, the club wouldn't let him do what he is doing if there was not a plan in place

Now that November 1 is upond us i do see some good signings of quality players coming through

  • Great points you raise here EE!

reckon the best rebuilds happen with tried and trusted experience and ability to merge with youngins so  it's gonna be tough.

thought we'd only need a couple of newbies to add to our strong nucleus of the squad, (and to show us he can finally fix our abysmal back line defence), but shame he has seen otherwise 🤞Just hope it works out.

  • There's certainly a bit of nervousness about the roster changes, but like most I'm excited that we have a coach who has the balls to upset a few people to get the desired results. Don't forget the war chest we have now, and I would expect the club to use that to sign another marquee player for 2025. We know that current contracts can be mutually ended early, so we are still in the game for another top quality player or two.

The risk will be that the new players haven't quite got what it takes, but that is the risk you run. We may also unearth the next great player. One thing is certain, we were not going to win a premiership with the squad we had this year. For a club the size of Parramatta, that's unacceptable. From now on we insist that we are truly in the running to win a premiership each year.

  • the game has changed and Ryles is changing our direction how we will play.

The current roster under performed, changes had to be made. We in 2025 will play a different brand of footy

Other clubs werent lining up to get guth, he is lucky to get that deal from Dragons, strange for them whom are rebuilding too.

If in 2025 Penisini doesnt lift the bar, think he should be next

    • Yes the current roster underperformed, so we best get rid of the ones who outplayed the rest and keep the lazy ones. That ought to sort it.

  • Just look at Ciraldo and the Dogs. He needs 2-3 years to prove himself. Until then, if you can't be patient you should try a different team until then.
Going to be a lot of ups and downs just trust the process, because you don't have a choice in his decisions

    • The dogs signed a heap of top PROVEN players to start in Ciraldos first year... we have only signed development players and let go of proven players.
