Whilst Corey Norman certainly hasn't been given the status of stand out player at Parramatta he has racked up some interesting stats. The following two really stand out in my mind as Norman slots in as a running 5/8th.
Tackle breaks (32) - More than any other half.
Running metres (1072) - only bested by Hoffman on (1202m) [also take into consideration Hoffmans preferred position is FB]
I think Norman has copped some very harsh criticism from some of the supporters on this site. He is only 23 and this is his first season with the blue and gold. I think he has been solid so far this season without being brilliant. I would like him to work on his leadership, and kicking game, both short and long which have been poor. I would add his decision making as an area that can improve, but given BA has given instructions to run the ball I'm not as worried as others when Norman gets trapped with the ball on 4th or 5th tackle. I'd prefer him to take the tackle than through a wayward pass resulting in an intercept try, ala Benji Marshall (That try by Kevin Gordon has been giving me chuckles all week)

I think Corey is going to take enormous confidence out of that last game, it was definitely a step up in his performance - he was much more regularly running onto the ball and of course that pass was as good as you will ever see. That game has given me the confidence to believe he's going to be a very good five-eighth and it's probably the first time I've been able to say that.
x 2 - I thought his "break out" game was actually the week before
After the previous week to "the pass" I too humbly said to myself something along the lines of
"has given me the confidence to believe he's going to be a very good five-eighth and it's probably the first time I've been able to say that."
I can't remember who, maybe it was Brad Fittler that said, Norman will eventually lead a team to a premiership. Who believes that?
Fittler for one ...but I am only hopeful at present. Ask the same question at Round 10 next year and hopefully we can all say YES!
Last two games he has been outstanding in defense and attack. What did everyone expect, he's coming into a new team, he had two halfs to work combinations with Kelly first then Sandow...really hope he keeps it up, which means less pressure on Hayne to do his thing around the back.
Might have to review the tapes, but I do agree with you on whether they were significant, i.e. led to trys. is probably up in the air.
For at 23 he's virtually a baby.
And considering this is Norman's first full season at 5/8, he's been impressive.

Managed to pull these on Roberts for last year:
Metres run - 789
Line breaks - 3
Missed Tackles - 22
Interestingly when I searched Ben Roberts, google tried to fill the rest of the search with 'worst player in the nrl'. (no comment)
