In amongst all the arguing and dribble from Gus last night he did bring up an interesting point. A lot of players are trying to secure contracts 2027 onwards if they can. Now we all know the eels are going to have a large amount of cap space, can they take advantage of that and poach some players ? Our front office is fairly slow so doubt it lol

Well more so to look at expansion, a lot of players are going to use expansion as a ploy to get more money with no intent of heading to Perth or PNG. Perth is a lot harder sell than Redcliffe, but they will still use it to get deals. RCG, Paulo and Matto did the same with us to get a better deal.
Be interesting to see what players who last year at their clubs is 2026 do. If they are no longer wanted it will be a chance for eels to pounce. Not sure what players are on that list but
I think players on the outer can get a good pay day and bludge at the Perth Bears....
That will 100% happen but I'd hope Ryles has his eyes on some players who are actually serious on playing some good footy
