Agreed, having Hands there and not using him any capacity is a mystery that only BA can explain. It is up there with his JA selections. In defence of his original selection I am not sure if they had a "reserve grader" that could have played in the centres, but with Moses obviously carrying the injury (I understand they said he was fit and you would say that regardless) the really obvious thing was to pick Sanders. He could have played half and just moved out everyone one spot as Moses could still organise from 5/8 (he didn't feed a scrum all night).
Now if everything went to "hoyle" then Sanders would not have been required. I don't think Hands is good enough to play as a genuine half but he could have fed the scrum and defended if he was put there.
Its seems lateral thinking is not one of BA's strong points and this just provides more ammunition for the BA haters, I am not one but this doesn't help his defence (no pun).
Well said Poppa, i am not pissed about Hands not being used, more so why is he there. Hands would not have improved us last night anywhere as Lussick was doing fine.
I wouldn't call him shit, but he is well past his use by date.
We would have been better flicking him for Flanno last year. Now watch how well the dragons progress this year with a coach that knows what it takes to win...
So many things could have been done-Carty to 5/8, D Brown centre. Even interchanging Tualagi in D with Brown would have been better-have him defend at centre and play 5/8 in attack. Virtually every time they went down our left they got on the outside of Tualagi and Brown had to come across in cover.
Can respect that Brad is a first grade coach & knows what he's doing, but, how can you explain not using Hands at 26-18 when we had a heap of possession on their line & Lussick could barely stand up?
One of Hands strengths is his pace around the ruck, he's creative, and the rest of our side looked completely gassed and out of ideas. If that wasn't the time to use him, outside an injury to Lussick, when was?
When Hands came on to replace Hodgson last season he instantly changed the speed of our attack. Lussick has been fantastic, but I can't understand why we don't use a 1-2 punch - especially when the rest of the team is exhausted from defending long periods.
Its a head scratcher.

Lussick was exhausted at the 50 minute mark, watch his lateral movement defensively from that point on.
He was fine making front on tackles but the moment any footwork or lateral ball movement was applied he floundered.
Opposition coaches would have noted that and they will exploit it in coming weeks.
Agree, its just opinion, but I just don't believe in 80min hookers in todays game. Its too quick, and the position is too vital to winning the middle for that level of fatigue.
"Dont think we need TDS as Walker can fill the roll his playing as can play lock, center, in the halves and fill in as dummy half if Smith needs a rest. I'd have Tuivaiti as the other bench player as he would allow another interchange to spell…"
"I think our club believes we have enough outside backs. There have been numerous outside backs available over the last 6 months or so and we havnt been linked to any of them."
"I would normally think like that too Fitzy, but I'm hearing he is really chasing a home like club so he can enjoy his footy. Nothing like having an old mate as coach to help with the environment.
'Josh Addo Carr credits the Eels/ Ryles for him…"

He is a shit coach, Brown or Cartwright or even Matterson would have been much better at centre.

Or what to take to win

Is anyone really surprised? All BA knows is 'chase the collision'. If that doesn't work, he's lost.
