Was BA offered to the Warriors?

Sport ConfidentialJune 9, 2016 9:00pmRebecca Wilson, Dean Ritchie, Christian NicolussiThe Daily TelegraphTHE New Zealand Warriors did not approach Parramatta coach Brad Arthur or his management for the head coaching gig in recent days, despite reports in other newspapers which clearly stated Arthur was considering a role with the club.Warriors boss Jim Doyle said he had not picked up the phone to call Arthur or his managers, Chris and Gavin Orr, but that he had received a phone call from an Arthur insider offering the coach for next season.“I repeatedly told the reporters asking me that Brad Arthur was not in our plans for next year or the year after or any year for that matter,” Doyle said.“We are working through issues at this club with various players and that is an ongoing process that is going well.“The last thing we want here is Brad Arthur’s managers talking up their coach up when we have never had any interest in him coming here.“I don’t know how many times you can say the story is incorrect but that’s what I did and it was still printed.”

  • I don't get this article. I have no idea what they're trying to say; whether we offered Arthur to the Warriors or his manager did, it's not worded very well. Therefore, I call BS on this one.
  • The Eels news has slowed down. If there's nothing to make up about the players, the salary cap stuff is almost done and the gang of 5 have been sorted, it makes sense to start looking at the coach for a story.
    Daily Telegraph 101.
  • I think it takes a particular type of coach to look after the warriors and BA isn't that type of coach and he knows that. So my call is BS. But I could be wrong who knows, I wouldn't blame him for wanting to leave.

    • I would have thought his family would want to stay in Sydney
      Worrying if true
    • Exactly the type of coach they need, strong and take no prisoners but hes going nowhere i reckon ,
    • The denials are BS.

  • 100%the warriors sounded out arthurs management ,100% arthur not interested , blue and gold forever
  • Look whom authored it and slap yourself for giving it any credibility

"De Belin will do a lot of the clean up work, the 3rd man in for our defence. Hopgood is now not alone in that area. He will not be flashy but he will definately do his job."

"positives are Loiero is out. That is a big piece of their middle, he does a lot of clean up work in defence, tightens up the attack. No Katoa and they are umming and arring whether to play Ativalu Lasati or Joe Chan on right edge.
