Exactly what I expected for Mitch. They'll use the bye as the extra week off for him.
Yeah the bye week to make sure it is right. I mean it sucks but he gets an extra 11 days to recover from Round 7 to our next game. Would rather a week or two late than a week to early.
As a chinese saying goes "one step backward, two steps forward"😊
What round is Origin ?
After Round 12, so he has 3 games to plead his case.
It's like clockwork isn't it . You couldn't have written it any better if you had Charles Dickens , Shakespeare and Quentin T , living in your granny flat.
I don't get this idea around "oh he's only coming back to play Origin". Honestly ridiculous considering the injury they're managing could rule him out for 12 weeks or more if he comes back too early. Then it kills both his club and rep campaigns.
True Super. If that is the case you would think he purposely caused this injury. Plus NRL rules state a player must play for a rep team if selected and are available. Only way they can decline is through injury or retirement. If they decline it can effect his chances of getting selected for Australia on their Kangaroo tour.
So even if he said no i don't want to play due to wanting to focus on Parra, he needs to hope Daley respects his wishes and picks Luai instead.
You don't get it ? Let me help you out .
Last year he sat out for most of the early season, and made a miraculous recovery in time for Origin , then he sat out the season post Origin however came out publicly and said he was training the house down in anticipation of Mal selecting him for end of season rep duties , all whilst his team mates battled it out for the wooden spoon. Then after apparently being 100% fully fit without as much as a niggle in the foot and therefore playing for Australia , he all of a sudden develops this crippling injury again , only for it to be fine just in time to get a few games under his belt for Origin selection.
Please .... he's either super unlucky , or he's comfortable enough getting his guaranteed Parramatta paycheque that the slightest niggle he rules himself out , Wheras rep games that aren't guaranteed paycheques unless you play he's prepared to needle up for the coin.
why would he care about risking his club campaign ? What's one reason other than pride ?
He broke his foot prior to origin and then tore his bicep in the final 3min of the last game. I would say he actually is unlucky...
