Inglis signing at Broncos delayed

Nine msnA dispute over new player contracts has prevented Brisbane from making official the prized signing of superstar Greg Inglis.Brisbane Broncos recruitment director Andrew Gee has been forced to cancel a meeting with Inglis and his manager Allan Gainey on Friday to sign the two-year deal, because of concerns by the Rugby League Players Association. The RLPA were on Tuesday given five days by the NRL to review the new contract guidelines. In the wake of Melbourne's serial salary cap rorting, the player, his manager and club chief executives now have to sign statutory declarations that all figures on contracts have been revealed."We were going to sign the contract tomorrow (Friday)," said Gee as Inglis remained unsigned."We'll have to try and reschedule it but it'll depend on what the player's association decides to do."

  • mabe the deal aint done for sure, or dodgy 3rd party deals
  • thats what i thought, i mean its not a done deal till its signed, mabe inglis will get a little less or something, laugh if the deal fell thru, doubt it but would be funny
  • It's because of the stat decs issue
  • You are correct Rod, apparently Inglis doesnt wish to be so forthcoming with releasing all of his payment information to the NRL.

Makes you wonder, is NewsLtd trying to pull another swifty - as was the case with the Melbourne Spooners.
  • Yep correct rod, it's nothing for us to get excited about!!!
  • I think it has more to do with the players association wanting to read the relevant documents from the NRL about the introduction of that stat decs.

"The chances of him being our 6 next year are very low, if he was a serious consideration he would be playing 6 now with dylan at centre. I'll be very surprised if he is our starting 6 next season unless he gets a lot more time there this season. "

"I think Joash is a good player, but from what I've seen only at fullback or on the wing. Those positions we've got pretty well covered, so I guess he's a great back up option. I'd like to see him in 1st grade, but I dont know how he fits in?"
