The new jersey for our Indigenous round 12 game against the Rabbits.
Eels reveal 2023 Indigenous Jersey
The Parramatta Eels have officially launched the Club's 2023 Indigenous Jersey.
This year, our Burramattagal Eels jersey design acknowledges the Burramattagal people and language, the beautiful winding rivers, mountains, the bush lands and, importantly, its wildlife across Dharug country.

It is important that we continue to preserve and protect country, it’s people, it’s water ways, trees, mountains and wildlife. The Aboriginal people have always been caretakers of this land to maintain and preserve it, and to keep it sustainable for future generations.
On this year’s jersey, we pay our respects to the Burramattagal people, the mighty eel, fish and turtles that are abundant in the winding Parramatta River.
The 2023 Indigenous Jersey, designed by Sean Kinchela, will be worn in the Eels' Round 12 match against South Sydney Rabbitohs at Allianz Stadium.
Match-worn Indigenous Jerseys will be auctioned post-game, with official information to be provided in the coming days.
The jersey is available for purchase through the Eels Store.

Looks great, what it means to the indigenous is more important
As a proud aboriginal i love it. The jersey is a beauty.
Looks great but hopefully we can beat the rabbits!
They have been our bogey team last few years..
Sooo Indigenous round we play the team that's got the most popular player who's indigenous and a team who's from a well know indigenous area? Good God this ain't gonna end well.
Abundant TURTLES in the Parramatta River ? I would starve to death waiting for a bowl of Turtle soup.
Meh....nothing like a bit of Chinese made polyester to remove that massive chip off their shoulders. ANZAC jerseys , Women round jerseys , Indigenous jerseys , all just hollow tributes to generate sales.
Clubs and the NRL pay substantial amounts of money to the indigenous coffers who will take their big slice of advisory fees to approve all different box ticks for the round , then all the clubs will then pay more extortion to the local Indigenous mafias to come and do their welcome to country smoke shows , and then the clubs pass it all down onto us punters who will rush out and add the jersey to the collections in the name of " honouring " the indigenous 😂😂.
If only people knew how much fighting and bickering went on behind the scenes between territories over the welcoming to country ceremonies and payments , it's like a franchise where the approved elders get an area to cover and they're all bickering over which location falls into who's territory. Won't be long at it'll make the bike wars look like a Wiggles concert. Best thing fans can do is boycott buying these gimmicks.
Both the Anzac and Indigenous jerseys are outstanding this year.
Couldn't care less if they came with a built in stubby holder, Fleshlight and Bluetooth headsets , they're marketing gimmicks to line pockets .
Wiz, Our Eels and the town of Parramatta has a strong Koori history. We should acknowledge it and celebrate it.
If I'm correct we don't even have a single indigenous player. Whilst I appreciate some of the best players the NRL has ever seen have been indigenous, they're rightfully celebrated as such , I see this PC circlejerk round as divisive and a cheap grab for cash. It's not just an indigenous vs non indigenous thing , I was equally as opposed to the ANZAC one .
I just think the NRL has bigger fish to fry and should stay out of social politics.
