Note: for whatever reason this may bring out the ugly in the people. I have no interest in causing a stir. No negativity please. I'm only sharing as I know some here genuinely care and have an interest.

nope. I prefaced the article by saying:
'I have no interest in causing a stir. No negativity please. I'm only sharing as I know some here genuinely care and have an interest'.
BTW, I didn't post anything bad mate.
Mate you certainly didn't post anything bad, its just a pity there is so many ignorant Klu Klux Karen's on this site, such as snake and co, who uses positive blogs like this as a platform to racially stereotype and constantly belittle Aboriginals.
I enjoyed this round like all the rest...love my footy. BTW created by Whiteman.
But what I don't get, is why half these so called aborigines with 10% Aboriginal blood running through their veins, happen to be more proud of the black ancestry than they are of the white ancestry.
Why is that I wonder?
Hmmm, I wonder why Frank.....political? pushed in Uni / schools / govt. etc.and of course the media.
And do not start me on some players not singing the anthem...yet they take the pay from the NRL / clubs. Can you imagine if one player chose not to play this weekend? He would be hounded out of the game, yet when the shoe is on the foot about the anthem its allowed.
Maybe it's got something to do with the fact that by 2017 the indigenous population was 798,365 and the government provided $33.4 billion towards the indigenous population.
That equates to $41835 for every man woman and indigenous child.
That's not including assistance with, medical, education, housing and assistance with interest on loans etc.
From where I sit that sounds like a pretty good deal but what would I know. I'm just a punter working two jobs to help for that nice little outlay.
Thanks Frank, you see someone like me thinks how much $$$$ is really making a difference? as we have many aboriginal people living on the coast / cities etc around the country, yet the real issues seem to be country areas. There are some people who need help, no doubt about but both govts. have been guilty of this welfare mentality, and it extends into non-ATSI people as well.
Iike Jack Wighton?
The very fact that you refer to quotients of "blood" percentage Frank just demonstrates your total lack of even the basic understanding of this topic area.
Cultural heritage is what your looking for.
Frank, I believe that the reason humans indulge in racism is for both practical and emotional reasons. By excluding certain people for the colour of their skin or their religion, or other reasons, community wealth can be divided between fewer people satisfying the greed of the majority and greed is a very common human trait.
Emotionally, racism also allows people of different races to feel superior to other races on one end of the scale and on the other at least to feel that they are not the worst human specimans on the planet.
To your point about Australians who are not 100% "white" being more proud of their blackness than their whiteness I would say that to exclude more people from the white majority branding anyone with any amount of Aboriginal blood in their veins as being black would be an effective tactic so this was done. Someone born into this situation could either try to live in both worlds, pretty difficult especially in colonial times, or decide which society welcomed them most, or at least shunned them the least.
I am not an expert, Frank, but I have thought about the issue of racism a lot in my adult years and this is what I have come to believe. I offer only a basic and general analysis on racism but OEE is no more the forum for an in-depth discussion into the subject than Matty Johns' Sunday night rugby league show is.
EAM great post, as I've said before those on here who've made a conscience decision to be ignorant on cultural matters will never see beyond their little bubble and garner their info from America.
Its all good EAM , I love reading their dumb posts like a Third grade teacher marking their exams, just laughable.
They know nothing , assume everything and always hide behind a keyboard or some other means.
If confronted with Mal or Peats or Inglis they would be ready for an autograph and wouldn't have the intestinal fortitude to engage in the manner in which they feel so righteous to do so on here.
I'd be more than happy to give children like Snake and his buddies an opportunity to express their opinions directly to Dean Widders, bet they wouldn't .
so I just laugh , other than that I'd put a bullet between their eyes
