I think a goal for our squad in 2024 would be to finish in the top 2. Best chance of ending any drought would be to have a stellar regular season and head into the GF off the back of the week off and a prelim at home. Panthers and broncos both very well placed to destroy their opposition.

Yep. Stringing 4 plus solid games together won't happen. Top two and a first week win is the only way to go.
I think I saw a quote from Mitch saying the team was very flat come GF day, the trip up north then into a GF was a killer.
Then why did they allow the players tpo make their won way to the stadium rather than bus them together to try and lift their spirits a little.

Well Brian Smith tried the opposite and look how that worked out.
There's anecdotal evidence that treating the grand final like a regular game is important so players don't get overstressed like our 2001 side did.
Luke Lewis talks about this all the time on ABC radio. How for him, camps and the like don't work - as close as you can get to a normal routine helps him get his job done on the field. I'm sure some players may enjoy the opposite too.

Yeah the whole approach of "Act like it is a normal game with a normal prep" just fell on its arse. It is not a normal game, once you get on the field and see the crowd and the trophy you are behind already.
Should enjoy the week, enjoy training on the field beforehand, team bus going there, it is a big occasion enjoy it. BA stuffed that up massively. If he gets to one again i believe he will change tactic.
