I'm not saying we will beat the Warriors after the bye, but I am saying we are capable of beating them.

The boys have to lift and play smarter. If we bring our A-game, we'll beat them. And we should have Hoppa back.

And if we do beat them, it will cancel out the Newcastle game.

All teams experience flat periods during the year. This is ours. But I can assure you this season is not over.

Positives from yesterday:

We controlled the footy much better, improving our completion rate

No points conceded in the 2nd half

Most of Newcastle's tries were opportunistic

PS No, I am not on the unicorn juice

  • I agree. It wouldn't hurt having hoppa and sio back though. And someone needs to mark up on Hurrell ina big way. His first try against Panthers was all strength. Hayne v Tomkins should be an easy match up. Tomkins defence has been pathetic.

  • We will get smash

    • No we won't.
      We will win
    • We would have learnt a lot from yesterday's loss. The attitude is good - it's the last tackle options and our timing that was off. I think BA will fix that and we'll beat the Warriors.
    • Paul, are you really an eels fan? I mean, you seem to be putting the team down. I don't think I've read one positive comment from you yet. Even when we win, you always seem to find a fault in the win as if you're peeved off about the boys winning...

  • Yesterday the backs lost us that game.
Poor fifth tackle options, poor passing and poor finishing.
We need Hoppa and Sio ASAP and we should be able to address some of it. Sandow and Norman need to put in a kick in on the 5th simple as that. Way too much getting tackled on the last tackle and no repeat sets for my liking.
  • I think the Warriors will win. Honestly, I think Parra will struggle the rest of the season even against the weaker sides. But Parra will temporarily fool us by throwing in a blinder of a game.
  • You are correct, two of Newcastle's tries were lucky deflections off kicks, we were down on smarts not ticker.

  • Seriously we concede so Many soft lucky or as u put it opportunistic tries..
Boyds try and the try off the bomb was so frustrating
And the week before against the storm... Tries off kicks.. Ridiculous!
  • I think the so called opportunistic tries come from attitude. The Eels need to scramble and get players around the ball on kicks. This will reduce the chances of ricochet's. I've noticed that when the opposition kicks our player relax as if to say well I've done my job.
