I understand in some areas keeping your main players happy is key, but this is something as well where Moses needs to stay out of where the club is heading further. Ryles ultimately has final say on his assistants and i believe he would already have 1 to 2 already locked up. I have mentioned in the past that Barrett has value as a bridge for Ryles to understand these players better, who's who in the zoo so to speak. Plus, Barrett and Ryles do know each other very well with Barrett playing alongside while also captaining Ryles for a long time at St. George Illawarra, also playing alongside each other in Origin and Test footy.
On the other hand, one thing Ryles might prefer to do is go with his own men to start new and not have anything from prior regime hanging around. The board also would get on board with that as well. Am i saying Barrett is odds on to be here in 2025? No, but it is also not odds on for him to be gone in 2025 as well. Though it will be his choice, the decision should have no influence what so ever on what Ryles wants to do. If he wants Barrett then fair but it should have no influence whether Moses wants him or not.

I saw this as Moses saying that Barrett has helped his game and he wants that to continue to push his game to the next level. We know this to be true and we saw what Moses can bring when he is switched on during Origin II.
I don't see any politics being played here by Moses, and I am sure it's more about what Barrett can do for his own game.
Personally, I hope Barrett is retained as an assistant. I think he's got a lot to offer at that level. Penrith hired him twice and I'm sure he played a role in Nathan Cleary's early NRL career development.
He's just not cut out as a head coach, like a lot of other assistants.
Not a very smart thing to say from Moses in my opinion. He needs to keep out of the whole process and concentrate on his football. Not sure if this article is just another media BS to get browny points.
Moses hasn't asked or urged anything from Ryles. It just another bs story. Of course when the journalist asks Moses on his thoughts for his current coach, Moses isn't going to throw him under the bus.
Lots of good halves coaches out there.
The comments by Moses just comes across as being loyal and thankful for the help.
Still think that if Moses and Dylan are not getting support from their edges and backs then that also means Barretts attacking plans are unable to be carried out. If we are giving Dylan and Mitch a pass re unskilled / slow support players then Barrett must surley get a pass as well.
We perhaps should be looking higher up the food chain to the recruitment and retention committee getting the type of players and contracts wrong to some degree.
A change at that level to perhaps include a Brian Smith in charge of footy operations could be a master stroke.
This is the issue with the club, Moses coming out and stating he has to find a role for Barrett shows the pull these players had. I don't mind Barrett staying, but long as it's Ryles choice and not the players. The players need to shut up and respect and go by what the new coach brings in.
When did Moses ask Ryles to find a role for Barrett? All he said it that he hopes there's a spot for him. Moses's isn't demanding anything. It's a beat up
How he stated that he wouldn't be here without baz and wants him to stay on blew his load all over baz. Throwing that into the media isn't a great look. Puts pressure on Ryles, just not mention a thing and see what gets brought in during the off season.
Agree 💯
Unfortunately with Barrett as head coach all of our systems have been more/less the same. I get not wanting to go too far off the rails with change but it also shows an unwillingness to switch from the BA style power footy game we've been playing. I think we need to start fresh with Ryles
