Ciraldo was only a temporary fill in anyway, so he wouldn't have been on an enormous salary. How could they still be paying Griffin?
Because he was fired with 2 years remaining on his contract, they have to pay him out in full, but they don't pay it all at once, they usually pay them out as per the contract schedule. So in effect he'll be collecting a Panthers paycheck for the next two years.
They gave Griffin a payout (One off, see you later) so they are not paying him anymore.
