The woman at the centre of the rape allegations surrounding Parramatta Eels star Jarryd Hayne has spoken our, telling Fairfax she was "saving herself for marriage" before the alleged incident with Hayne.
Hayne is alleged to have engaged with non-consensual sexual intercourse with the woman in his San Jose apartment, with the woman known as 'Ms V' admitting the pair were intoxicated.
After Hayne's criminal case was tossed out by the DA in 2015 because there wasn't enough evidence to sustain continuing, but the Eels player now faces a Civil case in California when the matter resurfaced a week out from Christmas.
Hayne has "vehemently" denied all allegations, and hasn't spoken to media about the case after leaving Australia for Israel where he's on a scheduled religious pilgrimage.
But the woman's lawyer, in an interview with Fairfax, said that she was a Christian herself and was saving herself for marriage.
"The fact is that this woman, because of her religious and moral beliefs, saved herself [for marriage] into her mid-20s and had the decision taken from her," lawyer Micha Star Liberty said.

Haha cash grab at its best. Hayne should claim she took advantage of him.
All I'm going to say about this to any women out there, if you go back to someone's place late at night, drunk or not, the man is not expecting an all night talk. This woman must be very naïve and is using the virgin angle for sympathy. The fact that she thought about it for several months before she reported it is also a worry. Sorry but you can't have regrets after the fact and then decide its rape.
This sounds a bit like the Assange farce. Two women had unprotected sex with him, apparently consensual, spoke to their friends for several months and then decided it was rape.
So how about you make a comment now to men advising against taking drunk & passed out woman home. Are they entitled to a feck? Just wondering wether or not your advice applied to guys as well? Would it be same advice if it was a guy making the complaint that he had been anally raped?
How about giving some advice on respectful behaviour?
Yes women shouldn't be so naïve but that's no excuse for a man to force himself on her.
LOLLL!!!!!
Its christian v christian.
Buyers remorse.
We’ve all made bad decisions drunk. Doesn’t mean we sued people.
I’m so glad that I don’t have to grow up in the farked up world
Every whore claims to be a innocent virgin when it suits them .
This girl says she woke in a pool of blood yet decided it would be better to grab a clean pair of Jarryd's underwear just in case she needed it , if you really got raped surely you would green the sheets with the blood that would of also contained Jarryd's dna .
Why would anyone rape a woman then leave them in their apartment ? Surely you would try to get rid of the girl and as much evidence that you actually even had sex with her .
Where is the proof that this girl was as intoxicated as she claims ? Her friend saying that she was intoxicated is not proof and if this girl was the sweet innocent virgin girl then why would this so called friend let her take off with s stranger ? Poor Jarryd has to go through this bullshit all because some whore wants some cash .
