You heard it. Let's see if his knockers here have to suck lemons or not .
Most of you knockers here ranted repeatedly that NEPOTISM was the cause of his selection to NRL here under his father LOL .
I know he will be only in next game because DCE is playing for QLD but the Manly coaching team have considered JA good enough .

I'm sucking lemons already mate - he's the next immortal clearly.
It's certainly an interesting turn of events.
Ok Brissy - look mate I don't think there was considered blatant nepotism by Brad Arthur as an individual but you said yourself that people were right to question his skill set. So how did he end up ar the apprentice halfback to Moses if he had a questionable skill set? I agree some comments were beyond the pale but to suggest that the fact that Jake Arthur not being the coach's son and hanging around the squad since he was 12 years old or whatever and beating Hayne in the 5k run - all that stuff - to suggest that nothing to do with him being the backup halfback is equally naive.
He's now spring boarded off that to another gig and good luck to him. I hope he goes well
Michael unless I have dementia already I recall you were the member posting earlier today on another blog that you also would give favouritism towards your own children . So with respect you have shown your hand as being biased as regards the topic of NEPOTISM. ( NOTE : As junior coach I have awarded a trophy to another team player in junior football ahead of my own child in the team who IMO was more deserving). Cheers
Nope you don't have dementia. I said that and anyone being honest would say it to.
I've coached junior sport too and giving a man of the match to another deserved kid in amateur sport is so far beside the point it's not funny
Cheers
Just to clarify Michael I was saying that my kid (just an early teenager back then) was more deserving than anyone IMO yet I gave the award to another kid who was hopeless ( I did this to avoid nepotism scrutiny and chose a kid who was fat and slow thinking and thus appeared to have low self esteem .) I like to think that at least occasionally a coach of a senior team with child or children playing for the same club or team might think the same because , just the same as junior teams , I would not select a child of mine to play in a higher senior grade ahead of my child but obviously for different reasons than low self esteem of another as mentioned ( I would select my child only if I thought they were good enough noting that if I thought I could not do that then I would coach another team away from my child / children ) . You think differently and that is where we are divided . I might be a rare character however, because it is possible that BA is another like me , it is not a certainty that BA was a thinking he was unfairly favouring his son JA to match nepotism.
I don't think he was either. Look mate giving the trophy to the fat kid in amateur sport is not exactly the same thing is it? Did you want the fat kid to succeed in life more than your son?
look let's just leave it there aye? I personally think both sides of the spectrum - those that believe that there was no favouritism whatsoever and those that believe it was pure nepotism - are just as wrong as each other
I wanted the " fat kid" to succeed as much as my own kid as he was a young human being , first thing avoid favouritism to my child allegations from other parents and so choosing best alternative to give the fat kid the trophy to raise his self esteem thereby self confidence in life towards achieving whatever success he desired ( like I had in my life) . At the time I considered my own kids already were above average achievers and I felt very fortunate in that regard . On balance therefore . I did not see any need to favour my own kids above more deserving others like the "fat kid ".
The real question is how was he ahead of Asi?
After what we saw yesterday, Asi has more experience and a much better back-up half to Moses/Brown than Arthur was..
Hard to argue with that. Not to mention JA was 18 when he debuted for Parra in 2021. That's young for a half who was far from dominating cup.
