Why should we contribute to his retirement fund ?

What would he actually bring to our club ?

And surely , if he was that good, he would have retained his Origin position as well as his future at the dogs wouldn't he ?

We had  Maloney- let him go.   We had Hodkinson- let him go. Finally, we keep Mortimer rather than let him go too , and what has he done this year ?

We must get Cronk and if not, than we should get Orford rather than the old,and unwanted by anyone else except us-Kimmorley !!!

         Thoughts please .

  • Nope. But Maybe we need to let Mortimer hava a bit more of a go before bringing out the noose, he may come gos next year.. once second year syndrome is out of the way!
  • Cronk or nothing IMO.
  • id be happy with noddy, yes their are better out their but so far we dont have a chance with any of them. mortimer and robson are not bringing their games to the table so yes noddy will have to do. even if it is just for a year he brings alot of experience to the club and you never know may bring a permiership for that year.
i mean what else do we have to choose from?
cronk- storm wont let him go and all the other good halves are all tied up. if u ask me we shoulda gone for carney when he came back, cheap and is on fire. who says a person cant reform.
  • Did I read this right?
"What would he actually bring to the club?"

Mate he may be at the end of his playing career but the guy's experience and tactical mind are about as good as you can get.
I am NOT a great Noddy fan but he would earn his pay packet with what he could do off the field as well as on it.

Sure there are better players out there but If he is the best we are able to sign we won't be doing all that bad.
  • I'd be happy if we signed Noddy.
Someone with his experience is probably what we need in the halves anyways.
Noddy still has something left in him, so we'll just have to see if he gets the chance or not.
  • The short answer is yes.. but it makes me want to spew..... Would prefer Orford although that makes me want to spew too....

Cronk... welllll.... I feel good :)
  • Noddy would be solid, but Cronk is the best option by far. Especially in the long term.

Don't boot Mortimer. He's a tough determined kid & will come good.
  • No names given but my dad drives a cab and picked up a doggies player and that player said noddy is the worst half he's ever played with, that all he had was a kick and chase, and was a real pain in the ass at training that could not organise a set play if it hit him in the head. All I'll say is that this player is one of the dogs best!
  • Taxi cab confessions.

Yeah Kimmorley as a last resort for mine. From the recent reports though it sounds like he is set to retire and take on that caoching role at the dogs.

I still hold hope for Cronk in Blue and Gold.
  • What Colin said.

Kimmorley brings invaluable experience and leadership to us. He will mentor Morts.

You do understand that the depth is missing in NRL due to the salary cap pressure, hence young kids are being thrown into the deep end and the veterans are going to UK. This point is acknowledged even by NRL and they will be implementing cap concession for loyal veterans.

You rate Orford higher than Kimmo. I rate him higher than Orford. It's subjective...
