HOW MANY FANS DO WE HAVE??????

Hey guys I was just looking at our crowd figures during our preliminary finals in 01 05 and 09.. And it got me thinking about how many parra fans are really out there?? I mean i know it's impossible to determine how many we exactly have, cause not all fans attend games and so forthe.. But would anyone have a estimated figure from serveys or something??? Going on those preliminary finals I'd say we would have a about 45000 die hard supporters!! And I would say the top 4 supported sides would be broncos, eels , dogs, and dragons!!

  • We have the 7 odd thousand who turned up to the Melbourne game this year with a few exceptions. End of story.
  • And that crowd included atleast 1 Sharks supporter who joined her husband for that game. The saying 'where the bloody hell are ya' certainly sprung to mind. And forget about the rain excuse...it bloody rains at every Cronulla game....(on second thoughts, that may be why we have such poor crowd numbers...).

  • I think that we have enough supporters to fill the ground every week no problem. Although there are lots of supporters who don't rock up consistently the team has to give th reasons to be there. A majority of parra supporters have never seen a gf win so I think people can be a bit harsh calling some supporters bandwagoners.
  • Lol nice photo, and 100 % true every game I've been to at shark park (which is a fair few) it has rained at some point in the game..
  • Rugby league crowds are different to afl. If a nrl team doesn't succeed and go through a bad patch then you can bet your bottom dollar crowds will drop. So this isn't just a parra problem.

This is why the membership drive is important and why you have seen crowd figures up. If we get to 20,000 ticketed members which I know we can then they will need to burn this stadium down and build a bigger one.
  • I think there was a lot of families keeping their kids away from that game worried that there might have been some bad crowd behavior due to the whole cheating thing and the press that week. We did fill half of anz for a semi last tear though.
    • Yeah normo that's right, and I was at the 01 gf, and the crowd was 75 per cent parra, the noise the crowd made that night was something I'll never forget...
      • Heh believe me, the noise we made at the Storm game was something i'll never forget.

Those 7,000 diehard Parra fans were more vocal than any other crowd this year.
        • Yeah what a great game to go too! Everyone got bloody scared of because of the rain though!
    • I went with my 2 storm supporter sons (yes I've tried to convert them). The crowd was fantastic and even consoled my blubbering 8 year old once we had the game wrapped up. Can't say the same about some Storm Adult supporters though!
