How does Parramatta plan on replacing Semi Radradra next year?
The Eels expressed interest in both David Nofoaluma and Kyle Feldt but ultimately pulled out of pursuing both.
While several wingers remain off-contract, the Eels are happy to play the waiting game and see who becomes available as the salary cap squeeze is sure to force some players out next year just like it did at the Eels last season.
It also gives them time to let their younger players impress.
A Holden Cup flyer named Greg Leleisiuao headlines that list.
The 20-year-old winger’s physique has been likened to that of Jorge Taufua.
Last year Leleisiuao played for the Gold Coast NYC side in a backline featuring Brian Kelly who’s now at Manly.
Still, don’t be surprised to see Radradra running around for Parramatta in 2018.
How would that be possible?
The winger’s contract with French rugby side Toulon runs over the 2017/18 European rugby season, with an option for a second year.
If he doesn’t take up the option, Private Ryan understands the Eels will be prepared to offer him a contract.
The European rugby season runs from August to May which means the winger could be back at the Eels by round 10.
While his deal in rugby is worth far more than the Eels were willing to pay for his talents, if he decides to return to Australia next year, they’ll be ready to strike.
The Fijian hasn’t even left the club and already talks to bring him back have taken place.

I believe we have players already, including Leleisuiao who can cover the loss of Semi, even if Semi stays in France by taking up the 2nd year option.
Would love to see the eels slowly start to blood some of the young talent at higher levels given the age of several of the top players. Only concern to me is that some of the older players are on longish contracts, and may be a deterrent for the younger ones with them going elsewhere as a result.
Vatuvei? No.
Fcuk no!
Simple really c h. - WE DON'T look for a replacement if we are sure we can get him back in 2018.
Which from all reports could be a real probability.
Then again we seem to have some pretty decent players who can fill the spot with a fair modicum of success.
There is no way the NRL can replace the talents of Semi.
A one off who will be sorely missed.
There has never been another Sterlo, Johns, Lockyer, etc etc. All individual talents in their own right who will never be replaced.
Mushy, what sort of fertiliser have you been having on your crop? Simply speaking I did not indicate that we need to be looking for a replacement from outside, as I believe there are more than just the young Leleisuiao who could fill the spot quite adequately, in saying that it would be hard to replace Semi as such but if we have to, then we have to.
Also, I don't believe I have suggested that Semi as such is replaceble by the very fact that like the others you mention in being one off's. If he does not stay, then we have to have someone to play in his spot, and that Sir is simple maths.
You're right - simple maths mate
