  • i was real depressed at first but i felt good inside cause i know we are gonna be bigger and better then ever next year with tahu shacks and poore coming
  • What about the bloody ref! Do you think Finchy's old man had a word?
  • When all my mates started to bag me i just said "Nah.... Didn't watch it" Now i just act like it never happened. GO PARRA '10
  • it was easier than 2001

we deserved the tile and we were robbed of the chance see you in 2010 when payback is a ..................................
  • 2001 hurt a hell of a lot more for me, i guess its because I really thought we had it in the bag that year, this time around I was nowhere near as confident yet I was still hopeful so the pain of losing didn't hurt as much this time.
  • loosing the gf was not good and yes i was disappointed but having said that i, and i think many would agree, that just getting there in the 1st place was one hell of an achievement for the boys and with that i felt happy again and knowing what 2010 could have instore for us eels fans is exciting.

2001 was a whole different feeling we were un-backable favourites that year and i and many others started celebrating before the game had even started and we were left to feel the power of the mighty force thats is brian smiths over bearing and over powering pressure, he wasn't/isn't and never will be a finals winning coach because he puts to much pressure on the players.
    • Not fair on the Smith front. He can't be blamed for us losing. I still rate him as the 2nd best coach the Eels have ever had. A great 10 years with Smith in charge.

I'm trying to pretend the GF didn't happen.
The hardest thing for me is getting over the 'if only' scenario's. We gave them too many points but still had a huge chance to tie the game and win it with 5 to go. IF ONLY!!!!!
  • I had other interests too, so I just did other things that kept my mind from it.
  • Shoot Archer
  • I watched the replay today. If you watch from the 55th minute to the 75th minute it is a great game and boosted my confidence for next year!
