The Supreme Court of NSW today handed down judgement on the case of Hoppa v Parra RLC.

Its judgement was as follows:

  • The contract is enforceable and must be registered immediately with NRL.
  • Awarded damages of $500k against Parra RLC for sullying the good name and reputation of Hoppa and religious persecution.
  • Ordered Parra RLC to refrain from asking Hoppa to play on Sundays as against his religious beliefs.

The judge was particularly swayed by letter tended by Hoppa's barrister, written by Mr Frankie Fong, the president of Parramatta Supporter's Club and Chairman of the Dope Council of Australia, as to Hoppa's good character. He wrote, amongst other things, that Sharp was a dope and BA a bush coach and that none had any idea.

In further developments the NRL stated that the damages awarded would have to go against Parra's salary cap for 2015. As the damages was awarded before the 2015 season officially ends, 31 October, it counted against this years cap. As such Parra will cop another fine of $1m for breaching the cap and deducted 4 competition points for next year. Additionally 20 deducted competition points have been suspended for two years subject to Parra not breaching the cap within that time frame.

*Mod edit* I appreciate that this is tongue-in-cheek, however some people may not understand that, hence the edit to the title.

  • Didn't you see some of the responses to Ron's Foran to Raiders blog?

Clearly some people need to be protected from themselves.

Although, I must admit that I weep for our generation, and am frustrated that these people get as many votes as I do. Sometimes the gene pool needs a little chlorine.

"Cheers LB. I just can't go past him, the only 5/8 on that list to play for Australia and multiple times, back in the 2000's he was one of our best players, i'd say he could even be second to the great Brett Kenny for us."

Ok so going through these rapid fire, particularly this one as this i reckon would be 100% for one player. I did some Halfbacks to make it respectful but not many to choose from.Dylan Brown won the vote at 6.https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HGCBD291.…
