Yes we can we just don't make mistakes with the errors.Don't continually make errors and give them cheap field position.Complete sets I mean that's got nothing to do with officiating.Refereeing wasn't the reason we got towelled like we did we committed footy suicide errors low completion rates no field position.
If we'd have completed and arm wrestled Melbourne then maybe we have a chance but we did none of that.
Errors can 100% come from fatigue, from score board pressure, from defending set after set with 12 men, from your opposition getting 2 or 3 sets in a row to your 1.
The Eels were not given a chance to compete. Arm wrestles form when adjudicating the ruck is consistent, take that from one team, and it’s never an arm wrestle.
It doesn't excuse our completions, the incredibly stupid offloads, horrific defensive reads & efforts - we played right into the Storms hands - but, they can also be results of fatigue, frustration, and scoreboard pressure.
The officiating didn’t cost the Eels the game, they didn’t deserve to win.
But it allowed the Storm to play at a different speed, it changed the momentum, and it changed how both teams worked the ruck.
Their first few tries were a direct result of officiating, against Melbourne, that is all it takes.
The Eels will hopefully learn from this, they will be hurting, we’ll see a different effort in Brisbane.
We can torch the Eels Coryn, the players, the coaches, they deserve it, but don’t let their inept performance justify absolute corruption last night.
…and just happened to come after the Eels were willing to take the Storm & NRL through court.

Try taking that to the nrl and see how it works NoS.
The difference between this and the court case we had the rule of law on our side not a public perception hear in lies the difference.
I mentioned this last year when we went to Melbourne you have to be nie on perfect to win down there.Playing the way we did sunk us.You know Melbourne aren't going to beat themselves yet how would anyone look at officiating when we gave them the rope and to make it worse they were under strength also.
I give us both barrels because basically we've rinse washed repeated the same performance in both years and unfortunately Melbourne haven't only beaten us they have ruthlessly exposed us.Notice how JR in the presser said nothing about the bias you mention or the officiating.
The NRL aren't going to take any sought of perceived bias seriously they just won't it'll be passed off as sour grapes. As mentioned again we gave Melbourne and the officials the reason we were that poor it's just not going to get perceived the way you want it to be.
Great points as usual NOS. When you lose by 48 points that is on you. But also, the issues from the refs made us fatigue and weakened us. The Iongi HIA weakened us as it forced Ryles to put Joash on when in hindsight he didn't really need to, but we got nothing out of it as no penalty.
It was both, our performance and refereeing performance. Had refereeing not been as bad we probably of been 34-4.
Well put it this way, Brisbane are under way more pressure than us. Brisbane being in a one team town, the biggest fan base in the comp, reigning premiers, Haas leaving for Souths and Reynolds retiring despite saying a month prior he was keen to play in 2027 with rumblings it is due to Madge, if they go 0-2 from two home games and lose to us who had 50 put on the week prior? They are F***ed with a captial F.
We have pressure too, if we cop another shalacking then we are losing the plot and Ryles will have talk on him as the honeymoon period is now over. As we now have the dreaded 'E' word, "Expectation".
But Brisbane are under way more pressure to win. However they looked like they had no energy what so ever against Penrith. Did travelling for World Club Challenge and Madge going all out for it take it out of them? Is their fatigue of the training regime? Will there be an arrogant attitude of we are nothing and can beat them in 2nd gear, which they very well could do.
Another thing to think about too is, we left Melbourne embarrassed. Apparently when arriving back in Sydney, players were collecting their bags, Moses went straight onto the bus. He was obviously embarrassed and as he should be.
Brisbane on the other hand i doubt would have felt embarrassed. Frustrated? Sure. They mentioned how they shot themselves in the foot with errors, their stats were nearly identical to ours with errors and missed tackles. But though Madge and Reynolds looked frustrated that it didn't work out, Ryles and Moses looked embarrassed. Not all the time but i know if you put a frustrated person and an embarrassed person to a same task again, the embarrassed person does better to avoid humiliation again. I know myself (yes i do not speak for everyone) if i do a task and feel embarrassed by the result, i am doing it again to a better level then if i was frustrated with how i performed at a task. Urgency is not there.
To Brisbane, simply winning against Parramatta would be a enough, they should be striving to murder us. If they lose, that is when embarrassment sets in. But to win, it is up to Moses and his leadership. But also de Belin and Paulo to set the tone against Haas and Carrigan.
To be fair Melbourne have been doing the same hold down shit for decades with regards to the wrestle they'll always get the benefit there they are the masters at it.
Thats why we needed to short pass our way through them attacking them in 2s and 3s tipping the ball on continually moving there middle.

Definitely wouldn't be taking anything to the NRL, and 100% agree with Ryles not saying anything in the presser (outside the Hopgood sinbin) too.
When you lose 52-4 you lose the right to demand answers around officiating. Thats on the Eels.
The Dragons earned that right.
But, also not going to pretend the Eels were given a fair chance to compete, they weren't.
I agree, to lose the same way, against the same team, 12 months later is very disappointing.
Let's see what they do next week, that's all that matters now.
... And the Storm weren't understrength, they lost a few players and replaced them with a ref and a bunker.

Agree LB, both.
And to Coryns point, to win in Melbourne, you need to be perfect - and you need to be given a fair chance.
We've seen it too many times, if the Storm are allowed a different playing field, they will destroy you.
Haha that's still not great is it. Honestly feel it might've been a far better contest.
Anyway all the Eels can do is control next week & ensure it doesn't repeat. Confident?

Yep, you could see in the 2nd half we went back to the old sideline to sideline attack. Instead playing through them.
Why can't it be both?
