In this instance, I just can't see how this contact has been given a grade 2.
It's because the Melbourne player was KOed and has an automatic 11 day stand down so the player has to automatically be punished in a similar manner that's what it is.
The Iongi head high/crusher was the pisstake how can they clear head contact then send Iongi for an HIA when as above they've said there's nothing in the contact.What the bunker is looking for is the effect of the contact and they rule accordingly.
But why should it be if a player gets hurt that's when you get disciplined?
Like hit to the head is a hit to the head. If there is force, like Crichton's, it should be judged the same.

When you saw McDonalds eyes rolling in the back of his head I no everyone saw that basically Hopgood good what he got off of that accident or not 10 minutes and a week.
Could it be argued that the ball handling / pushed passes were a direct result of how the game was being officiated in the first 40 mins? Melbourne allowed to hold down in the ruck longer than us, yet it was Parramatta who were on the brunt of the six again calls. A player binned in the first 30 seconds takes a lot out of the tank. Then we had the Kelly 'knock on' and subsequent failed captains challenge. All of that adds up. If I didn't know any better, I would say it almost looked like the NRL were no longer concerned about covering up their corrupt management of the competition. It was that obvious.
Would Parramatta have won? Likely not. Melbourne played well and were allowed to dominate the ruck like they always are. But the way Parramatta started to play after that first 20 mins, and the final result, I believe were a direct result of how the game was officiated.
We had ascendancy after the first try, we marched all the way down the field and turned the ball over in the red zone. We had them on the 5th at their 40, then a six again, then another at tackle 3 or 4, Try over in the corner. Rinse and repeat after the Kelly "knock on", marched down the field. Stefano steps 1m off the mark behind our markers, markers called off side and Grant straight through. It was beyond a joke. We cannot complete when there is such clear one sided officiating in the first half. Gas tanks were empty we completed double the amount of tackles, and with the amount of points the missed tackles werent even that high. Cant play expansive footy if we cant get a breath in.
Yes we can we just don't make mistakes with the errors.Don't continually make errors and give them cheap field position.Complete sets I mean that's got nothing to do with officiating.Refereeing wasn't the reason we got towelled like we did we committed footy suicide errors low completion rates no field position.
If we'd have completed and arm wrestled Melbourne then maybe we have a chance but we did none of that.
