FAR from being a spent force, an evergreen Nathan Hindmarsh yesterday declared he was willing to make 60 tackles a game to lead the Eels to glory.Speaking after helping launch a new NRL advertising campaign featuring himself on a towering billboard, the Parramatta veteran said he and the Eels were adopting a whatever-it-takes attitude as they launch a premiership assault.
And that will begin and be tested on Friday night when they take on the Broncos with Jarryd Hayne likely to be ruled out.
"I am thinking he won't be there," Hindmarsh said.
"And that is what we are preparing for. It is a loss but that won't stop us from starting the season well."

On the subject of retirement talk, Hindmarsh said his body was fresh and ready to be hurled into the type of hard work that has helped him become an Eels legend.
"I am willing to do whatever it takes to help this team," Hindmarsh said.
"The body is really good and I am happy with where I am at. I will help my teammates and if that means making 60 tackles a game I will do it. If that means running beside Tim Mannah and Fuifui Moimoi, then I will do that too.
"I am ready to put it on the line."
Hindmarsh won't make any bold premiership claims, but he is champing at the bit to take the field with a side he describes as exciting and committed.

"I like what I see every year," Hindmarsh said.
"The pre-season always excites players but until we do it on the field I am not going to make any statements.
"I am not going to say we'll win the comp, as much as I would like to, not yet anyway."
Ben Smith (pectoral muscle) and Hayne (knee) are both set to miss Friday night's opening game.

From this article, could it be that Hindy is willing to put his body on the line because he knows it's his last year & will be giving it his all. What do you think ? Also spewing at Hayne being expected to be rules out :(

Loved this article, its pretty much like his not thinking about retirement. What a legend.

I don't think he's ready just yet
We all know Hindy will go at 100%. It's the question of whether the other players are willing to stand by their captain and do the same. If they all put in 100% every game we will win the comp. In the words of NFL super coach Vince Lombardi, "If you only settle for your best you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish."
