Mitchell Moses could join Cameron Munster as one of the most coveted free agents in the NRL later this year while the Eels can cut Josh Hodgson’s contract after just one season after it emerged options have been built into the deals of the two superstars.

Moses, who has enjoyed a stellar start to the season, will technically be a free agent on November 1 after the Herald was told his latest contract, due to run until the end of 2024, has a player option in his favour for the final 12 months.

  • Can someone post the full article....Fcuk me this off contract shit just never ends.

    • Its exhausting isnt it. I miss the days where the news was about the plays or trys

  • I cannot see moses moving from the eels for the foreseeable future

    • And I thought Weed loved the Eels and was going to be our future captain, but here we are.

      • Except Mitch has had 3 opportunities to leave the Eels and hasn’t even looked like it, even when we practically kicking him out the door.

    • I agree totally Carlo.
mitch is the least likely to go anywhere - it's his "team", he's developed nicely over the last 2 years to the point he is 2nd in line for origin and possibly 3rd for Kangaroos (Cleary, DCE, Moses), he seems to be enjoying playing, the team wins more than it loses and it's his junior club. I expect to see a contract extension for 2-3 years prior to nov 1 for Moses, with a slightly upgraded value.

on the Hodgson contract, seems a wise move to have a club option for the 2nd year, perform and you get another year, don't and see you later and off to the tigers.

  • Who in the actual fuck at our club is the dipshit that keeps allowing these player options into these contracts. We seriously need to reveiw who our negotiators are and where their skill sets fall on the scale. Any cunt can propose and get a contract signed wheras the other party has nothing to lose.

We need to replace whomever is doing these negotiations. Like seriously a dyslexic budgie on Meth could get a player to sign a 950k contract with options in their favour .  It will cost us 1.3 to keep him now by the time this rolls around. Would've been better off giving him a mil a season with no player option.

    • Exactly.  These player options need to be removed from the game.

      • Ha ! But in all seriousness, how fucking inbred ,banjo playing , special person , does that knights coach sound. Imagine him adressing a room full of corporate sponsors.
