No surprises there really. Hayne has an ego and that ego is part of the reason why he was so good. He fits in well over in the states because over there, at the end of the day, they only care about how many games you win. Over here, we like seeing our athletes being "top blokes" and nice guys. Egos don't fit as well into the Australian culture.
I don't know if the ego got in the way. Too me, the club did the wrong thing by Hayne from day 1.
At the end of the day he had 5 or 6 coaches in his first 7 years. Moved from 1 to 6 to 3 etc and very poor recruitment around him. I think Piggy and Finch were the only rep halves/hookers he played with.
Bellamy, Bennett, Halser etc would have delivered at least 1 premiership with Hayne in that time and matured him at a faster rate.
no real surprise to read about that imo
Tuff call mate, considering who was in our roster and who was coaching too...would be like herding cats!
Spot-on
For Hayne to say he has done everything in league that sums him up really, not a team player. As for Hindy he should of retired 2 years earlier than he did.
