Exactly. When it comes to money either Hayne has no idea what his management are doing or he flat out lies. Either way, zero credibility in anything he says.
Like all sports contracts they'll start verbal, then move to something casual in writing, and when all parties agree in principle THEN a contract would be drawn up.
Given Parras gains and losses I can't see how we couldn't put 500k on the table. Especially since we apparently have over $4m for next year. I know we have Norman and Jennings backended, but still.
Anyways, I can't see Hayne getting snapped up anywhere else after the reputation he's set in the last few years.
Parra came out and said they only have 200k left in the cap, so of course he hasn't been offered 500k or 700k.
