  • I can't imagine how many of those dumb Tweets he gets each day. Those dream jokes are also pretty damn old. He was in the NFL over three years ago. His response is pretty damn spot on.

  • If anyone follows Gus Gould on twitter, he cops a lot of nasty crap too. Sometimes he responds back with sarcasm too.

It all comes with social media. It looks bad for Hayne to respond because he is the one is the public eye.

  • A bit of an over the top reaction, but so what?! What the bloke said wasn't that bad, it's a long running jokes against one of the characters of our great sport. It's not funny anymore, sure, but this guy probably never was funny. Jarryd's response is fine too. This is nothing.
  • Did he actually say the line "I have a dream"?. Or is this a case of how the media/fans read something and twist it. Similar examples are how fans/trolls say about Moses "I just want to play for a winning team" or Phil Gould's 5 year plan although he never said quote unquote 5 year plan.
    • I think he said the dream line when he joined the Fijian rugby team. But he was on record regarding wanting to play at the Olympics since he debuted as a teen. He said early on that he wanted to be an Olympian but that wasn't going to pay the bills and rugby league was a way out of housing commission and helped establish him as a superstar.

      • I think he also used the word "dream" when he was talking about how he bought a house for his mum during his Eels exit press conference in 2014.I don't think he actually ever said "I have a dream to play in the NFL" or any other sport, but I could be wrong.

  • I have a dream that Parra will win another comp in my lifetime. If you can manage to be a part of that Jarryd, I suspect a lot of this rubbish will go away.

    • Only way for him to regain his brand/ reputation is to win a grand final with the eels

      • Yep I agree.
