HAS ANTHONY LAYOUN COME OF AGE

The Eels U/20 fullback has had a great series for Lebanon and shown a lot of maturity for one so young.

He is another that could play NRL this year judging by his performances for Lebanon. Hope we keep him and not let him go as we usually do.

  • Wow what a player with the 4 and the winger. Tim mannah was massive as was Moses.
  • Has improved out of sight
  • I have been very impressed with his performance all the way through.

Didn't realise he was one of ours until recently and then to find he is playing under 20s blew my mind.

All in all I think this World Cup has uncovered some very good young talent who will be pushing for FG selection somewhere during 2018.

I know we have all bagged Robbie Farrah at times, but his claim of a couple of seasons back that he would be a good half seems to have been proven correct.

His combination with Moses has been excellent.

    • Farah definitely can hold his head high. All those boys, played with heart and kept turning up.
    • Brett, there is plenty of potential to grow the game, especially by adding a couple teams into the comp.
  • All the Eels players that have represented their respective nations have played exceptionally well.
  • DEFINATELY
  • Anthony had a great tournament. Can really play.
  • Good player.
  • I watched the match then the Kiwi's vses Fiji.  What great games and for me the Lebanese team really showed a lot of grit especially against a top rated team such as Tonga, one commentator mentioned that the majority of the Lebanese team played park football while the Tonga team had mostly NRL players.

As for Layoun he is going to put a lot of pressure on the others vying for the eels #1 spot.  Timmy played good minutes and ran strong his old leg pushes were back, and wow hasn't Moses come a long way.

The other game over the ditch was a pleasure to watch with the Fijians deserving the win, they really limited the NZ big forwards especially big Solomona. They deserve to be in the finals, and loved their war cry.
