Halfback?

One Eyed what have you heard? Is Cronk still on the cards?Everyone thinks now that Inglis is gone we miss out on Cronk cause Melbourne doesn't have to release him......but what if he wants to come?If a player wants out I'm sure a club has released plenty if players before their contracts have expired....and I'm led to believe the Eels have offered him a very nice paycheck, way more than the Storm.....

  • Can't see Melbourne releasing him now that Inglis is heading North. When the whole cheating scandal came to light, every Storm contract should have been canceled, allowing a fairer distribution of talent. Yet here we are, practically begging Cronk to join us, without any luck.
  • It's the same old stumbling block - Melbourne have him under contract. It doesn't matter if he wants to come and Parra wants him, he signed a contract - both parties are obliged to keep it. Its' a very "brave" recruitment strategy, to peg all your hopes on players under contract.
  • Plus his deal was a 5 year deal.. so it was probably a bit less than the others and worth Melbourne keeping compared to the others.
  • You say "brave".

    I say stupid.
  • Forget about Cronk people!!

I still am not convinced that even if we did get Cronk it would be the and of all our problems!!!

I look at the cowboys side they have the best half in the World in Thurston and if you look at their side experienced representative forwards like O'Donnell Southern mason and co with the likes of Matty Bowen in the backs!!

Like hell they are no world beaters either!!!!!!
  • We gambled high stakes with only a pair of twos.
Now it looks like 2011 will be with those we have left on our roster.

Problem with the Cowboys Eeldarado is ONE player's over inflated ego.

Played em off a break to get himself the biggest "legal" deal this year and hasn't stopped letting everyone know about it.

I mentioned this to Peter Parr BEFORE the signing and told him to forget about this year because of the ego and disruption it was going to cause in the team and he told me which bus stop to get off at.
Last time I saw Mr Parr he called me a smart something or other, but those two bits are on the front AND the back of the body.
  • Brave or stupid,

i just read yours tinkerbell we are on the same wave length here.
  • I put that word in quotes for a reason... :-)
  • very poor strategy in my opinion.
what's happening to our club? we are a laughing stock!
  • Anyone know when Cronk's Melbourne contract expire ?

They let GI go. So either Cronk's on peanuts (relatively) and Melbourne can't afford to lose him, doesn't really want out or can't find a good enough excuse.

"When you look at it that way, 1.2 is a lot. I reckon he has more in him than what he's showing at the tigers. Under Ryles he'd be a different/better player in my opinion.

"💯 I think for the most part he's had his foot out the door.
Even the defensive urgency isn't there for him anymore."
