Greg Eastwood

My question is why are we not being linked to this guy?

He has been granted his release from the ESL and it was assumed that he would head straight back to the Dogs, but considering theyv'e already bought more players than Real Madrid they must have surely used their cap space and when you consider they have signed Pritchard who has surely filled Eastwoods potential position in the backrow, you would have to think Eastwood would be looking elsewhere for a team.

The only clubs with coin to burn still seem to be us or the knights, the knights appear to be the new raiders as they are struggling badly to attract players. I can't understand it why we havn't targeted him imo he is a much better option than Matuia who can't even fkn train with the team untill May and imo was always an overated player anyway. Eastwood was outstanding for the Dogs last season and he is only going to get better and he would recouperate a little proportion of skill in the forwards we have lost due to Mateo leaving and add futher intimidation to our forward pack.

I know that we still have a fair whack of coin left in the cap, as much as I would love to sign Quade Cooper I think holding out for him while he decides has already severely detrimented our ability to sign other players as did holding out for Cronk at the start of the season.

I like the rest of you just want to see potential improvement for our squad next season. Atm we are in a much worse position then we were for this season and I just can't see how we are going to improve with our current signings

  • Well from all reports, the dogs are still chasing Eastwood, don't ask me how they can afford him... Would cost between 250-300 k..... a little suss if u ask me!!
  • Dont forget the 100,000 pound transfer fee. Current conversion rates put that at about $170k give or take a few!
  • Sounds good but the transfer fee is what's stopping clubs going after him. With the transfer fee he could cost around $350K plus for a 3 year deal which is to much for him. He is worth no more then $250K IMO.
  • Even if we were to make a play for him, the Dogs would probably still be favourites to get him.
I'd love to see him at the club, but given that his ESL club want that transfer fee, I don't think it's worth it in that respect.
  • Why are we still chasing forwards;

Props = Poore, Fui, Mannah, C Webb, Pele
Second Row / Lock = Hindy, B Smith, Shacks, Horo, Te Mari, Lasalo, Oak etc

FFS we need to figure out what are are doing with the 6 and 7. Until we do that we shouldn't be signing anybody. I understand we can't sit and wait or miss out etc, however, the coach and club need to make a choice on the 6 and 7 and then sign players from there.

1,6,7 and 9 wins you comps and until we get that right it wouldn't matter if we had the best prop, second rower and lock in the game.

Obviously we are waiting on Quade's decision with angst.

    If we sign Quade:

    1. Hayne
    6. Morts
    7. Quade
    9. Mitchell / MK

    If we don't sign Quade:

    1. Burt / Humble
    6. Hayne
    7. Morts.
    9. Mitchell / MK

Bottom line is Hayne better be playing 6 if we miss out on Quade otherwise we are maybe back into fringe 8 but not top 4 etc and still eft waiting........................

Humbles name is getting thrown around to play half, i am not sure but if Morts doesn't fire he will get next crack but we are sick of wondering if / who will work out in the halves. This should not be a dilemna to worry about, this should already be cemented.
  • We won't get Quade so I would have the following

    1. Hayne
    6. Humble
    7. Murray
    9. Mitchell / Morts
  • I'm hoping thats a pisstake because that would be close to the most irrelevant line up of players I have seen considering only two of them are actually Parramatta players and of the remaining only one is off-contract.
  • Would you sign him as a prop or second rower? I think the issue is we're pretty well served at second row - to put a lot more money into that position would be stacking it very heavily. I do see him as exactly the type of person DA would love - puts in every week, skillful and tough. What's not to love. But I'm more worried about front row then the back rows.
  • WHY ARE WE WORSE ??? WHY DID MATEO TAKE 23 WEEKS TO HAVE A GREAT GAME AGAINST THE BRONCOS ??? AND HOW MANY GOOD GAMES DID MATEO HAVE IN 2010 ?
WHAT HAS KRISNAN INU DONE FOR US THIS YEAR BESIDES COMING IN FOR INJURED GROTHE AND TRYING HIS BEST TO EMMULATE ERIC'S "HEART ATTACK" STYLE OF OFFLOADS ESPECIALLY WHEN IN-FRONT OF OUR OWN TRY-LINE AND TURNING OVER POSSESSION ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS JUST LIKE MATEO HAS BEEN DOING ??? CARL WEBB WILL SHOW ALL OF US PARRA FANS THAT WE SHOULD HAVE GOT RID OF CAYLESS AROUND ABOUT THE TIME WEBB LEFT THE BRONCOS TO GO PLAY WITH THE COWBOYS AND WE SHOULD HAVE SIGNED WEBB WAY BACK THEN.
WE CAN EASILY REPLACE KRIS KEATING WITH TOM HUMBLE IF WORSE COMES TO WORST.PLUS WE HAVE SIGNED THAT "YOUNG-GUN HALFBACK" FROM THE ROOSTERS AND IF HE IS AS GOOD AS THEY ALL SAY,,, WELL I DONT SEE WHY HE CANT PARTNER MORTIMER AND CREATE THE NEWEST YOUNG HALVES COMBINATION IN THE NRL AND BECOME THE NEW CARNEY AND PEARCE - LIKE HALVES COMBO.
PEOPLE ARE ALREADY TALKING ABOUT PLAYING HAYNE AT 6 IN 2011 LIKE WE DID WHEN WE WAISTED THE FIRST 8 WEEKS OF 2009 AND REALISED IT WAS FAILING BECAUSE HAYNE HAD TO MAKE MORE TACKLES.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE IF WE DO THAT AGAIN IN 2011. I BELIEVE IT WAS ALL FIXED DELIBERATELY TO WASTE THE FIRST 8 WEEKS AND CREATE A GENUINE EXCUSE FOR ALL THE FANS AS TO WHY WE WERE PLAYING SHIT.
IF THE CLUB DOES SOMETHING SIMILAR IN 2011 WELL THEN WE WILL KNOWTHAT THEY HAVE NO INTENSIONS ON MAKING THE TOP 8 AGAIN AND THEY ARE NLY INTERESTED IN MAKING BIG DOLLARS LIKE THEY DID ALL OF THIS YEAR BECAUSE WE WERE FAVOURITES IN MORE GAMES THAN NOT THIS YEAR AND THEY OBVIOUSLY COULD NOT RESIST THE BIG ODDS WHICH OUR "UNDERDOG" OPPOSITIONS HAD EACH TIME WE WERE FAVOURITES.
  • BLODDY OATH THEY ARE SUSS !!
WHO DO THE DOGS THINK THEY ARE ???
THEY ALREADY HAVE - ANDREW RYAN, FRANK PRITCHARD, NOW THEY WANT EASTWOOD TOO ???
THEY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED RIGHT BLOODY NOW AND I AM NOT TRYING TO BE FUNNY.
DONT FORGET THEY ALSO HAVE AIDEN TOLMAN AND RYAN THE "FIXER" TANDY AND KEATING - HODKINSON ,
THEY BOUGHT MORE NEW PLAYERS THAN ANY OTHER CLUB AT THE START OF LAST YEAR-2009 - 14 PLAYERS,,,
THEY GOT ABOUT SIX MORE NEW PLAYERS FOR 2010 AND ONLY LOST EL MASRI AND EASTWOOD AND NOW THEY HAVE ALREADY GOT ANOTHER HALF DOZEN FOR 2011. WHO THE KCUF DO THEY THINK THEY ARE ???
THAT IS A TOTAL OF 26 PLAYERS WHICH THEY HAVE BOUGHT ROUGHLY IN THE LAST 12 BLOODY MONTHS AND THEY ONLY LOST EL MASRI, EASTWOOD LAST YEAR AND KIMMORLEY THIS YEAR TO MY KNOWLEDGE. ONCE AGAIN -
WHO DO THE FOKENN BULLDOGS THINK THEY FRIGGIN ARE ??? DIRTY SON OF A BITCH TODD GREENBERG
