Contrary to what has been said my sources tell me that Gower has signed and an announcement will be made shortly. I'm also told that we will be definately getting either Barrett or Orford. Barrett being the prefered. We are waiting on a decision from Barrett to come out of retirement. Orford has agreed to come but we are playing stale mate with him until Barrett makes his decision.

What makes this rumor any different to the others? (by the way, i hope you are right)
1) we are after 1 other to support mortimer
2) it would be the oldest and slowest halves combination in the comp

Unless one of them will be Morts mentor and guider on the field, and the other off the field?
It does provide the club with several halves combinations to play with and fine-tune though until season's start.
If we don't want to go down that road next year i would take Orford at 7 Hayne at 6 and if they still don't want to play Hayne at 6 i would take Orford at 7 Barrett at 6 and leave Hayne at 1 with Mitchell or Morts to round out the 9 and utility.
Either way we have a number of options.
I don't know why everyone is pancing about next year we could very well be a top contender but not with suggestions of Gower etc..................Barrett or Orford would certainly help.
Who would play at fullback?
For the future i think we could buy a FB once Burt is on the out. I know we have Loko and Sio in the wings waiting for a shot at wing and centre etc so i think we are covered there.
Hayne has to play 6 he will dominate with a decent 7 next to him and just surround him with finishers and he will find them.
Everyone raves about Carney and Benji and rightly so look what they are doing. Hayne can go even further than them he just needs more experience thats all it is and he will fine tune his game.
