GOULD- I Agree

Cant help but hear what phil gould is saying about inu and hayne about not getting involved and that and i have to agree. Their is nothing stopping all the backs including burt and reddy(not mentioned) from getting in their and making some metres.

I noticed with the yow yeh try that it wasnt just inu out of position, hayne is still out of position he is suppose to be running behind our line of defence towards the direction the ball is going, the ball went to our left defence and hayne was still on the right side. Beside the stagg tackle i have noticed hayne has been no where near anyone when they get a try. Look at slater he is normally at the person or almost their when another team scores against them. The purpose of the fullback playing behind the line is to catch a player that breaks through.

It also seems like gould said their is not urgency to get in their and help, no urgency on the loose ball and the kickers. the only players that have urgency are players like horo and wright who are playing for contracts and the usual workhorses in hindy and mannah. have to say in senior and expericed players im disappointed in the involvement of burt, inu and reddy. Mateo broke through twice and the only player that was sorta nearby was reddy.

  • he needs to keep bagging them ,as soon a she does ,theycombine to score a try..seriously though ,i think hayne is playing with an injury ,he did something to his leg or hip when tackling the broncos fullback and seems to have been limping a bit since
  • have to say horo has been very good, burt has been very disappointing needs to get involved if he wasnt a good goal kicker he woulda been gone by now.
  • one good play for the whole game he was very quiet the rest of the game, have a look at the stats id say wright, reddy and inu did more work than him
  • Gould @ around 50min : "If i had a long stick with a hook on it and a pink ribbon, i would hook Krisnan Inu right now. He has contributed nothing today".

As much as some of you guys hate Gus.. you have to agree with him some of the times.

And about Hayne... he is always out of position.. just too lazy in defence
  • Can't say I agree with the observations of Gould on Hayne. I was waiting for him pass out from all the hot air he was blowing tonight. His Hayne bashing was obviously embarrassing the other commentators.
The bloke scored the first try, set up the second, almost grabbed a second himself and was there in support more often than not. The try to Yow Yeh was from broken play and Hayne cannot be blamed for not being there when the ball spread from left to right in one tackle and also spread the length of the field.
The try from the Wallace break was due to the Tronc offload, mate for all money the guy was held, the ref almost should have blown a penalty to us for a late pass. Hayne was set for the next tackle.
Hayne follows the ball more often than not, from time to time he appears slow getting to the ball, however the attitude of his run is deceiving as he covers more meters in less time than others.
I agree with what Sterlo said, which is that his quality comes out when he comes into play on a less is more scale rather than interupting the halves and not letting them do their thing.
In short - Gould is a wank....
  • We all hate gould haha!
  • yeh they did more work if u was watching the game with ur glasses on cause broncos peppered there corner with kicks burt come in looking for the ball and gets a try ffs leave burt alone wannbe fans
  • I watched the highlights of THAT grandfinal run last year again today and noticed how many tries Burt scored and all over the park and thought *wow he was all over the field looking for the ball, where has that gone* that try he scored tonight showed that he might be back to his best and that could lead to others picking up their game too.
  • I have to say Gould was pretty spot on about hayne tonight he was out of sorts for some reason, just didn't seem interested but it was good for the team cause they had to pull there fingers out and have a go.
  • I thought the same ...didn't seem to hinder him too much when he got dudded for that try though.
