Eels tragic Neville Maroon will be nursing a broken hand for the next month after punching a metal sign in frustration after Luke Burt's missed penalty goal last weekend.
An amazed onlooker emailed us a photo of Maroon's injury, plus this description of his remarkable outburst in the season-ticket holders bay at Parramatta Stadium: "Neville punched a metal sign as he was walking out of Bay 45.
"In doing so, not only did he cause a massive dent and echo through the exit stalls, he also broke his hand at the same time.
"Call it over the top passion!
"He punched the sign so hard in anger, it sounded like a bomb and everyone turned around with some cops putting their hands on their guns."
