Tuha trio in Wenty whitewashNSWRL.com.au, Matt BuxtonMon 18th July, 10:15AMWentworthville Magpies winger Honeti TuhaWentworthville Magpies winger Honeti TuhaA classy performance by the Wentworthville Magpies has seen them cruise past the Newcastle Knights 40-8 at Hunter Stadium.Honeti Tuha was simply outstanding for the Magpies, earning the Intrust Super Premiership man of the match award, and Dylan Izzard had a perfect day with the boot, kicking eight from eight. The Knights’ only victory of the season was against the Magpies back in Round 4, but history was not to repeat itself despite a strong start from the home side. Both sides knocked on in their respective opening sets, but it was the Magpies who posted first points. The set was started thanks to a great run out of the in-goal by Honeti Tuha, before Dylan Izzard put a up a shaky bomb on last tackle that was caught by Jake Butler-Fleming, who brilliantly flicked the ball for an unmarked Scott Schulte to score.A wonderful back-line movement by the Knights locked the scored back up when Bryce Donovan did an excellent job to get the ball to mid-season recruit Tom Hughes, who had work to do but he evaded two defenders to get over the line. The Knights took the lead when Will Pearsall put a cross-field bomb up for Tom Hughes, and it deflected backwards of his hands into the lap of Ken Tofilau, who then turned it into a rampaging Pauli Pauli to score in the corner. From parra eels websiteA Wentworthville try meant the lead was once again changed when the ball was spread left to James Gammidge, who made a linebreak and passed inside for a supporting Tuha to run away and score.Tuha then extended the Magpies’ lead to 18-8 with his second try when the ball was switched inside and he calmly ran through a gaping hole in the Knights’ defence, and that was the final scoring play of the opening half. The Magpies began the second half relentlessly attacking the Knights’ line, however their next try came against the run of play. Pearsall attempted to put in a long-range kick, but it was charged down and re-gathered by Nick Kassis, who ran away and scored.Off the kick-off set, Luke Yates was knocked out cold in a tackle, and was stretchered off the field after a significant delay, before an offside penalty added an extra two-points to the Magpies’ total.Cameron King took the lead out to 30-8 when he darted out of dummy half, sold a ball to his left, and strolled over under the posts. The Knights conceded another penalty goal, before Tuha pounced on a grubber to score his third try of the afternoon, which capped off a fantastic day.Wentworthville 40 (H Tuha 3, S Schulte, N Kassis, C King tries; D Izzard 8 goals)defNewcastle 8 (T Hughes, P Pauli tries)

  • I'm not why it doesn't say Wenty Fullback.
  • Sure
    • Good point
Did things change around when Buretta move up
    • Honeti has been at the back even with Bureta back I thought.
  • Wenty are suddenly on the verge of the eight again now!

  •  wenty and the under 20's are going ok now wenty went very well ,and iszzard looks good at 6.sign him up on a new contract. hes dad was a great player too,  king went well ,at 7 and must be near a nrl start , but the big find wasHoneti Tuha he has it all, why on earth did new castle let this guy go?.

look he's near a nrl start too,  in the under 20's , penrith is the top side and near unbeatable  , but parra really went near a win.

in both teams or the 3 teams, nrl , nsw cup, under 20's we the eels have 3 very good coaches and coaching staff.

luke burt is proving himself a very good coach and he helps brad arthur  in the box and at the cattleyards, cayless is going very well too, he has a hard job as brad has to draw players from him due to injuries, the big plus in brad coaching and preseason  training is the 3 teams are united and train a lot together, thats a huge plus in my view.

cayless and luke burt are real parra boys , we the eels have a bright future with our coaches this year and staff , and now the whole 3 teams and players are performing well.

that part of the eels is full of promise for 2017.. all we need is a bloody board that can run there side of the business 100%better , and for the leakers in our club to piss off, play your power games  and greed. at another club dont ruin the mighty eels club ,why would brad leave he has good players and staff readdy for 2017.. go the eels and good luck

to the player's who want more money, stay clean and be roll models to our young eel player coming on who one day will replace you all, we have some very bright young talent from the 15's upwards no doubt...thank you phil for my space on this.. after all we are 40 year supporters of the eels , we have been there on the very bad years and some good years, next year could be a grandfinal win.. to do that we need a new board fast, and get the media off the eels  back...and go forward from this day on,'' rise from the ashes''...bleed for each other, look after your back and let mateship unite  the mighty eels. can you see  that eels chant raw  can be great again parra, parra,  we can be a power in the west if all unite as one..dont put our club down never, we will die loyal eels fans win or lose..

    • Great post RM

We must make the most of this catastrophe and come out of it with a new board that is above past factionalism
  • Honeti was certainly a good pick up for Wenty. His left edge combination with Kerrod Holland for the Knights Reggies last year was lethal, and netted 40 tries between them.
He is a solid option we have in reserve. He generally knows where to be on the field, and he knows how to find the try line.
    • This guy was a standout for Wenty on sunday.

He was very sharp, quick and very supportive of any team-mate with the ball.

      Essentially, he's a footballer.

  • Team list for round 20?? Titans.

Hopefully he can be an edge where we have Funa-Iuta and Petrus as the only really great prospects in junior…"
