for all their brilliance, and they have tons of it, you can't have a team sport involving 17 men when 1-2 are taking it easy attraining and not busting a gut on the paddock EVERY week.
Thanks for the thrills Krisnan and Mateo, but you'll both be right at home at the Warriors where you can have one year on and one year off.
We need more guys with the heart and attitude to their job as Cayless Hindmarsh and Luke Burt, real Pros.
We'll hopefully be a more consistant team next year, albeit slightly less brilliant!

lose home grown quality and replace with .............................................. NO ONE
kk was dumped to the dogs, goz they have a 5/8 in morts and later hayne, he's a runner, and dont have a great kicking, bombing game, they dont want him as a half back in our future, they want cooper.
horo may stay, hes dad mark a mate of mine wants him to stay a eel.
cayless is retiring ,and may be hired in coaching, or the board ect, he wont be lost to the eels it seems, it seems carl webb will replace cayless next year, the eels will be ok next year, with cooper and webb, plus mitchell, loko, seto ect ..maybe better, 2011 should be lots better guys
goal kicking is why inu is not performing better, he kicks the ball high, and has a high kick rate, if parra had not had burt
i think inu would have been a star.
but guys is this not gone on before, where players where not wanted at the eels to shine in other clubs.
take now tony williams and kevin kingston, both should be playing for parra right now.
so its going down the same garden path again mate.
The question is who is letting our players get away with bludging and our club culture is allowing players to have this attitude problem. Im sure Mateo is gonna be an awsome player if he is mentored and disciplined correctly.
No doubt Mateo has the talent, but our club culture has let him down.
I love the way our boys play, especially Hayne. But seriouslly how often when he has a winge, the management take a back foot and allow him all the freedom to take time off and relax at training. I cant see bellamy or bennet doin this. And in DA's defence, i think he doesnt want this attitude in players, but the pressure from the club n the fans can get in his way at times.
Anyone see Mitchell's last try against the Tigers ? Who sparked us when the game was on the line ? Who sparked us when our season was on the line vs Broncos ? Who is the no.1 offloader in the NRL ? It starts with M ends in O. Mateo.
We already have the tough consistent toilers. Hindy,MK,Robbo,Morts,Reddy,Shacky will be back,Poore,Mannah, etc. Tough Consistent toilers aren't enough boys and girls ! Mateo provides an x-factor.
People can say what they like about Mateo this year and his lack of consistency and be fooled into believing it - but I suspect there is more to it. I suspect Mateo and DA don't see eye to eye & DA is backed up by the right people. Don't be fooled. Mateo was basically pushed out. Why do you think Mateo is on fire right now ? He's trying to show the club what they'll be missing.
If he is supported by the right people at the Warriors we might see Mateo becoming the player we always suspected. We've given him the ammuinition.
