I know it's a trial and the sharks were terrible, but our kids second half defence was impressive, you can see we are heading in the right direction under Ryles.
The fact that Ryles put Ryda Talagi on midway through the first half shows how highly rated and the respect Ryles has for him. Unlucky to get that knock, but he looked bigger than nearly every player out there. Only 19. Well proportioned athlete
Amazing. Very very happy. 1 slip up from a guy who has a lot to work on and from Kelma who won't be here much longer. Plus a weak performance from Pryor who I think might get squeezed out also.
Otherwise we completely dominated them.

Future looking bright but we still need to find an edge player who is an established high level NRL starter, a 6 and a genuine Winger.
I wonder if we could try and get Bostock who is in line for a big upgraded deal in a stacked backline and top 30 in Redcliffe. He is originally from Sydney so might be able to get him if we offer a good money deal. I think he is a 10 year NRL winger who is tough and nails and is no where near his ceiling. The edge is target is Talakai in a swap deal for Lomax. I like Talakais versatility and punch. Sharks are desperate to capitalise on their 'window' and Lomax will be happy to go to a title contender. He will probably also like playing for a STG rival and living in a beautiful part of NSW he is familiar with. They need Outside backs and a goalkicker.
For 6, unless Pezet who looks absolutely unreal already figures out a way to stay we definitely need someone to come in and support Moses and slot in for him when needed. Lorenzo, Fletch and Twidle looked good and will feature in our spine and plans well into the future but I don't think they will be ready to play a full season next year. Brooks could be an option. Experienced and balanced Moses nicely. I'm confident now anyone can come in to this system and improve defensively and I don't think he'd blow up if he is coming off the bench by the end of the year if the kids start firing. It isn't a sexy option but it does make sense I think.

Was there any update on ryda? Was he filled out with the hia and if so, is he ineligible for a run next week?
Possibly rested id say. No use risking him
When you think about it, at the moment we really only have 4 locked in players in the forward pack
Paulo
hopgood
williams
walker
then we have a long list of competition for spots
tuivati
JDB
Katouga
Kelma Tulagi
guymer
Doorey
moretti
T Brown
W Latu
We effectively have 9 forwards fighting for 4 spots.
JDB is definitely going to be in the team. Probably starting 13
Fletcher is an excellent goal kicker
He has starting this year on fire. Converted all the goals last week in trials. Last year in SG ball he was not this good
His style seems to rely a bit more on a powerful strike through the ball which might correlate with a development of his own strength as he is growing
